I believe both won Steve Spurrier coaching award last year and beyond Brian Kelly I would think they would be the top two candidates again this year. Beamer seems to really get the job done and do more with less. This team winning 7 to this point is the best coaching job in the league. His first two years in Columbia have been very impressive. dude really gets it and his players seem to love him.
Beamer? His resume is not even good enough for 2nd best. You forgot Kelly, who has LSU in the SECCG and if they win out may even play in the CFP. Beamer and Co are looking at the Citrus Bowl.
Volnation is in meltdown mode. Looking at their posts, they appeared to bail on the Vols as early as the first quarter. A cadre of posts are calling for Heupel to be fired.
I didn't watch the game. But 600 yards of offense after what we did to SC last week. My guess is Tennessee saw that we had our best game against SC and since we suck, that SC sucks worse. Rattler actually looked every bit of the Heisman candidate he was at Oklahoma. 6 TD passes. Wow.
Looking at some clips/stats, it appears that SC almost hung 70 points on them if not for some bogus call (?). I hate the Vols and am quite glad they're out of the title picture.
And blown out by the Hogs. Beamer happy to get back off the hot seat, no COY. Maybe the Vandy coach. He had 2 sec wins, no one expected that.
Hmmm, I mentioned Kelly in the second sentence? Beamer gets more out of less better than anyone. Won the award last year so apparently others agree he’s doing an excellent job.
I don’t know how you don’t hand it to Brian Kelly? They went from firing tbeir coach to beating Bama and making the SEC championship game.
No one would expect Beamer to win as many as he did last year and dang sure not possibly 8/9 this year. He beats Clemson and he’s my SEC COY w Kelly. Only difference is Kelly has way more talent. I guess my appreciation and sportswriters appreciation for Beamer is about getting everything possible out of his kids in terms of wins. Beating Tennessee tonight is biggest upset of year in the Conference.
You really think SC can beat Clemson at clemson? More likely they get blown out after celebrating this win. They've been up and down all year. I think Kelly is a lock for SEC COY.
Didn't they also only have like 30 scholarship players at the end of last year? I know they are talent rich, but what's he's done in a year is impressive. Seems like they have improved, all year and are gaining steam, whereas the Vols are limping to the finish. Tennessee had a great year beating Bama, but they also benefited from having every game that mattered at home, then uga happened and now this usce beating. Beamer was projected to be right where they are 6-7 wins, so nothing special there. Lsu preseason win total was 6.5
