As the team moves forward, we are DEFINETELY learning what NOT to do in the future. A big strong running QB that can move the sticks, and 0 carries in the first half? Where is the guy that wants to dictate the will to the opposing team? A winning, dominating attitude..... Stuffed runs up the middle? Sideways passes for no gains? I get our receivers were hurt but you've got a potential first to third round professional QB that can dominate a game.... Al Davis, "Just win baby!" If these plays are the best we can get now, we surely need a more imaginative OC going forward. If your team can control the game and impose it's will, an entirely different outcome...... GO GATORS!!!!
BN's history shows he controls the game through his running backs. His 4 yrs at ULL he has had multiple rb's with 800 or more yards. If you follow recruiting, we have 1-4 star RB committed and another 4 tar project to pick us. a possible 2024 4 star also in the mix.
If that's the case and I have no reason to doubt you, is it possible we have a Franks/Trask situation where for whatever reason BN is glued to AR's potential when he may very well have a Trask on the bench. If he is looking for the best passer, who can scan the field, be consistent, move the team then just maybe it isn't AR. But strange how some coaches are tethered to a certain player. Fact is, BN could play both allowing Miller or Kitna to play a few downs to see what he has. He doesn't more than likely so as not to bruise AR's fragile ego.
One has to conclude AR is protecting himself entertaining the notion he may go pro and thus wants to limit any possibility of injury. Sad thing is, BN has to see this and allows it to the detriment of the team. I think, could be wrong, BN is doing his best to hold the team together and keeping them from sniping and taking sides. He keeps talking about how they are together and so on. But when your team is not winning and you have a qb whose strength is running the ball but he chooses to be a drop back passer averaging 55% completion rate that's a coaching issue. SOS had no issues bringing in someone from the bullpen, he wasn't concerned about hurt feelings or perception.
Lol, I imagine it could be pretty frustrating for Billy too. Who knows, he may start thinking about pulling AR now that Kitna has progressed only to look up and have AR throw a couple of darts. He's just so inconsistent.
AR wasn't the reason we lost and he wasn't able to be the reason we won. If the running game isn't cranking, UF is losing. It's not difficult to figure out. If your an FSU fan having watched this game, what are you hoping your team does next week? If it is me I want Man 2 Man cover 1 or 0 with pressure. If AR beats me throwing the ball, well congrats, it would be the first time all year.
I feel like this is probably it. Most of those "read option" plays are already predetermined before the play starts. Some of the reads are so obvious that AR should keep and he doesn't.
Feels like we need an OC. Nothing against billy, but if we don’t have a run game, we have no offense. Could be a personnel issue, but we are far superior to Vanderbilt in terms of talent.
