We WANT Billy to be the guy. But the jury is out. Sometimes when you
WANT something to be true- it can color your perception. Lots of dudes have good pedigree and a great plan to win and just don’t. Look at the anatomy of the death of a program and you’ll see similarities. Tennessee thought they had their dude like 5 times before it worked out. Dead program for 20 years. Miami - 5-6 dudes and they just KNEW they had their man with Diaz, Shannon and others. We thought we had our guy in Muschamp and Mullen. There may have been doubts but there was reason to believe they could do it. More often than not- it’s not the guy. 100 + years of Florida football and it was THE guy twice. He has all the tools off the field- recruiting, facilities, program in alignment, assistants, attention to detail… but his scheme and in game play calling and middle 8 of halves are sub par… they don’t scare you, lack of identity. And I don’t care how many 5 stars you bring in - you have to call sone decent plays and make adjustments. Tennessee is gonna try and score 50 a game… will a Napier offense be able to keep up? Georgia is gonna out 5 star us… will Napier be able to outcoach the talent deficit? I just think you look around the country and go - look at the coaches that give you a schematic advantage in year 1 or 2 and are they doing better than Napier with same/equal roughly talent and the answer is yes. He’s gotta know that. He has to understand that his stubborn commitment to 12 personnel, his stubborn commitment to the broken naked bootleg rollout trash - it doesn’t work and yet he keeps doing it. it’s the “LULL” offense. It lulls you to sleep with 12 basic plays and then maybe breaks one or hits you deep- that doesn’t give us an advantage.

It is not that he won't make things better. Any recruiting effort will always be better than none. It is that the displayed inability to make the current players better says he has a serious ceiling barring major self Improvement.

I think you will see what I mean when there are different personnel of our roster-maybe read between the lines if you know what I mean ;) Could be some on current team are not that coachable-so no matter what you do.....some want to stick with the narrative it's all BNs fault

But-while I understand what you are saying-can we at least keep an open mind and give this man more than 10 months and 11 games

I just dont understand what people's expectations are this year. There is only 5 national title winning coaches since the playoff. 1 is retired and not coming back to Florida. There is also Jimbo from pre-playoff era, but I doubt anyone will touch that with the S---show in aggieland.
Since Florida won the SEC championship in 2008, only 4 teams have won, and only 1 from the east.
It's an uphill battle, and by wanting to fire the coach after 10 games isn't magically make things better.

which was the same plan Texas a&m had vs UF. UF countered with running AR wide along with Pearsal on 3 end arounds. We didn’t bother even trying that this week.

I admit to having the expectation that we wouldn’t lose to KY at home, get run out of the stadium by an LSU team in disarray and then getting curb stomped by Vandy.

But if he is given that play and a pass play play if this or that happens-he doesn't seem to pick the right play/option-not a good decision maker

So getting beat by 1 score is being curb stomped. And a team that won the SEC West is a team in disarray. You lose credibility by not being unbiased.

It’s just really sad that we are and have been irrelevant for so long. We’ve been a nobody for 13 years now. Losing to a scrub team like Vanderbilt doesn’t even bother me anymore. I just don’t even care anymore.

    +1

I may be a simple unfrozen caveman lawyer from 2006, but I don’t see why they never do the rocker step fake play action. Maybe AR doesn’t commit to the run enough to make it believable, but seems worth a try.

We were run out of the stadium by lsu and curb stomped by vandy? Okay lol To me run out the stadium was what uga did to us-a 22 point win-not a 10 point and 7 point wins that could of gone the other way with a bit better play by AR and the defense

I hear this a lot. but I beg to differ.
Every schools fanbase acts this way in Power 5.
Two weeks ago Ala was ready to throw Saban away. When Brian Kelly lost to FSU, their entire fanbase when ballistic. Wake Forest,
My expectation was to beat Vandy today.
    Thus expectations were not met.
