I sincerely hope we don’t accept a bowl bid. Why? Several reasons. 1) I don’t want a losing season, and this bunch will lose a bowl game. 2) We’ll have some of our better players opt out for the NFL and won’t have as good a team. 3) 15 extra practices, you say? I don’t think 15 more practices will help this team.
Best chance we have to win next week probably required a loss this week. It will require urgency which we do not usually have.
Yeah, blue blood programs routinely turn down bowl games, especially when they’re completely rebuilding and under enormous pressure to get better fast.
A bowl game gives us some practice and some guys film for their next destination. Winning doesn’t seem to be a concern. Winning programs have pride about winning. Losing programs care more about the money.
Guys leaving won't be practicing. Portal opens on 12/5 and they will be traveling for visits. They need a destination to enroll in January.
The bowl game will mean more than any game this year because the players playing, will be playing next year. AR will not play in the bowl game. We can get Miller and Kitna some action.
Miami plays Pitt at home next week. Win that and they’ll be bowl eligible. I could see us being paired with them in a bowl. That could be a little interesting.
