If he does this, I'll be a lot more optimistic about this coaching staff.

I've just seen it too many times. If you don't see adjustments fairly quickly from a coach, I just don't see huge adjustments coming in at year 3. There are just some things where all coaches are set in their ways and they aren't changing.

With Muschamp, it was conservative mentality on offense so extreme that we looked like a 1970s team (only slightly exaggerating there).

With McElwain, it was the hostile mentality towards the administration and the fanbase, and also a conservative offense that never really seemed to have any tempo. He also just was not a good recruiter.

With Mullen, it was his tendency to play guys with seniority rather than the best players available and his loyalty to a fault of his coaching staff. Also had issues recruiting.

Napier has issues, hell Saban has issues. The question is if he can develop a system from the top down that works. Right now, he has a lot, and I mean A LOT of work to do.

 

Common sense tells you that Richardson is the key to jump starting our offense, and Napier does not run one play for him the entire first half.
