Do you consider DeS a moderate conservative?

That is a good point. His one act of patriotism in standing up to Trump on Jan 6 is washed out with his refusal to testify the truth about Trump and his blatant insurrection intentions on Jan 6 to the American people.

True enough but we’ve also never had a president like trump. To get his profiles in courage award he should say the same things under oath to J6 committee that he does on the book tour.

He is harder right than me. If in no other way than his manner. I prefer a Pence like presence.

That said, I am fine with DeSantis politically and he is miles away from Trump as a person.

The minute DeSantis treats a single woman like Trump did, I'm out.

DeSantis out performed Trump during the lockdown era too. (I disagreed with a few things he did) He cares more about the environment than Trump and has a common sense view on abortion imho.

He is pretty hard right, but not at all the type of figure that seeks to make himself a god like Trump.

I would rather a Romney type guy lead the party, bit that wont happen.

are you not concerned by his propensity to use the power of the office to punish the opposition, legal or not?

Florida is where woke goes to die according to DeSantis. In other words, in Florida, we don’t care about helping out the struggling descendants of slaves, we don’t care about gay rights, we don’t care about suicidal transsexual kids, we don’t care about pregnant kids, we don’t care about mass shootings, we don’t care about climate change, we don’t care about healthcare for the needy, we don’t care about immigrants, we don’t care about voting rights, we don’t care about COVID-19, etc. That’s what Ron DeSantis stands for. In addition, he has anger management issues and a superiority complex. He also is a divider rather than a uniter. I can’t imagine worse future Republican presidents than Trump and DeSantis.

No. I think some of that is partisan slant/spin and some of it is overreach. Regardless, he will be bound to law and I dont see him being able to do that in DC.

I have been vocal about my disagreement over some of his moves.

Seriously? Look at the current president. They literally hid him in a basement during his campaign.

Pence is lower than Trump on my list at this point. Both need to go away.

Dark Brandon is getting a lot of shit done. Good stuff. Pence not so much. Ever.

In the interest of bipartisanship however I am sure he’s good husband. It’s evident He loves “mother” very much and not at all in a creepy way.

Woke. The word is stupid enough to make us all sound stupid. Republicans reuse it to sound superior which makes them look stupid trying to answer why they hate it. They don't have a clue

You want my partisan blathering to combat yours? Nah. You just made a bunch of talking point claims. I didnt see a boatload of meat there and its all been rehashed before.

RD is far from perfect. He isnt the villain some of you want him to be.

Worthless post. I will start with one of my points. DeSantis doesn’t care about the needy. He refuses to expand Medicaid. The expansion would give more than 500,000 poor people quality health care with the Feds picking up 90% of the cost. What kind of human being won’t do this? The answer is someone who doesn’t care about people.

We have a desantis thread. I will not debate you topic by topic.

Let me explain how this works. I will offer my opinion on the topics. You will hate the opinion.

I will yell you why I chose a conservatove position more than a "pRoGrEsSiVe" one and you will argue and hate that.

No answer I ever give will satisfy you.

So I will not waste my time.

Beside its hoops season and you need to start complaining about our coach already right?

    (Hows that for off topic?)

He is very much the villain we know he is. Then again, you didn't see what a bad guy Trump was back in 2016. You have the blinders on. You seem to fall for politicians who stake their brands on cruelty and antidemocratic behavior.

I get it. You don’t know much about basketball, and you could care less whether poor people have quality health care.
