Oh man, I missed this. After firing the half the staff, he told the rest they'd have to work 80 hour weeks ... Some managers told their staff to work 12 hours a day, seven days a week. I can't imagine anyone left there isn't sending out resumes.

He's mad that he was forced to buy this company and is taking it out on the employees. What an ass.

And his next problem is going to be finding new talent. You can't publicly treat the long term employees like this and expect to get good people to replace them. Highly skilled tech workers are in demand have a ton of options.

I originally thought that Elon would cut costs abdlook to salvage as much of his $44B purchase (which he futilely tried to scuttle) and move on but it looks like his aim is to shut down operations

    there’s this….

    and this

Yeah, I’m sure that looks great on their tech resume as Silicon Valley is gearing up for hundreds of thousands of layoffs. “I quit Twitter because Elon was just too demanding.” Yeah, I’m sure other tech firms will get a hard on hearing that.

It’s abundantly apparent you don’t know much about Silicon Valley employees and culture

Not fake ... the guy has a blue checkmark. That means he's either legit or has $8 to spare, one of the two.

A lot of people are quite understanding of a talented employee not wanting to work for a demanding, unreasonable employer, especially a demanding, unreasonable, incompetent employer.

The employees left will be told to work 160 hours a week to make up for this.

    From CNBC ...

“Entire teams representing critical infrastructure are voluntarily departing the company, leaving the company at serious risk of being able to recover,” the engineer, who said they were handing in their resignation on Thursday, wrote to CNBC.

The engineer added that many leaving Twitter did not feel the need to stay, and that they only knew of two people staying, one because the company sponsored their U.S. visa.

“We are skilled professionals with lots of options, so Elon has given us no reasons to stay and many to leave,” they wrote.

He originally wanted to layoff 75% of the company. He lays off 50% and let’s the other 25% walk on their own. Sounds like pretty much the way every other large company handles it. Severances don’t have to be paid when they quit.
