Why didn’t the cops drop the guy as soon as he brought the hammer up?

 

My recollection is that the man has pled not guilty. Presumably, the video will come out in the criminal trial, and it doesn't seem odd to me that law enforcement/prosecutors wouldn't release the video to the public - at least at this point. Even I had some questions about the details and how it went down, but I would find it odd if the DOJ would lie in its indictment if there is video evidence that clearly contradicts the material allegations. What would be the upside for the DOJ to do that? To the extent we're getting into potential conspiracy theories, I would find it more likely that the guy was Paul's drug dealer than his lover. Maybe someone knows something the rest of us don't (I doubt it), but the obsession with the gay sex angle is super odd.

That's my understanding. But it wouldn't be the first time someone confessed to the cops and later pled not guilty, right?

 

You’d think if there were any truth to this story his lawyer would be pushing it in public. Instead, his lawyer is saying he was sucked into a conspiracy theory fantasy world…. That’s the only proof I need.

As for Paul Pelosi… maybe he didn’t see him as a threat at that point and just thought he was mentally ill, or on drugs, but harmless…
