The vibe around Florida football has noticeably changed since the open date. The program feels like it’s finally on an upward trajectory in a way that it hadn’t previously.

It’s odd to say that the 42-20 loss was kind of encouraging while the 41-24 and 38-6 wins felt vaguely like disappointments, but it’s true. Or, at least, the latter felt like money left on the table more than they were disappointing. That’s how quickly things can shift during a transitional year.

Hmmn..... I don't look at ATM and USCe as disappointments. Yes we left a lot of points on the field in those games but still the team showed resilience and life while the defense got multiple stops. Utah and Tennessee games, 2 of our best offensive performances, are absent from discussion.

Yeah, this writer has been . . . I'll just say less than optimistic or uplifting in his overall coverage . . . this season.

Even with lesser quality opponents, the defense seems to be more disciplined and the scheme changes in coverages, along with the pass rush/blitz, has lead to turnovers.

I know this is an oversimplification bordering on stupid but our D seemed to be "backpeddling" and running after folks in many of our games before tamu and usce.

The last 6 quarters seem to be more "attack and press" in comparison.

    At least IMO.

We beat two very bad team...games we should have totally won...he we not...well this place would have been in full meltdown mode. Lets not get to crazy here.

I don't think ATM this year is talentwise much worse than LSU was in '20 and '21 where we lost.
Coming out on top this time sure feels good!
