Really? Silver spoon, 32 sexual assault allegations, him on video admitting he essentially assaults women on the reg and can grab them by the pussy because he is rich and they'll submit (and spare me the locker room talk because only creep dudes talk like that), his creepy ass behavior with his daughter, the stories from him at the miss universe pageants, failed and fraudulent businesses, countless accusations of shady business practices, Central Park 5 and that wasn't enough to show you exactly who he was and was going to be?
We’ve been over this before. Pence supported and participated 99% of Trump's efforts to overturn the election. The only thing he declined to try was the completely moronic idea that he could somehow just declare himself and Trump the winners, despite losing the electoral college vote and getting voted down by both houses of Congress. And you think we're supposed to be impressed at that?
All things aside, he’s already a subpar candidate. Why do you support him? He’ll never win. There will be better choices available than Pence.
And he's telling us to sell his book. We're going in circles here. He was an enabler the vast majority of the time. Now he's going on TV to hawk his wares. I don't have use for his story.
The Republican Party is in major trouble and every word Pence speaks cements that fact. Anyone that takes his "show" positively needs to be reminded that politicians are not our friends and will exaggerate, deflect and lie for their personal gain. Pence is no hero. He did his job. On one day. Nothing more. His politics are similar to a revival preacher using a religion to enhance his ego.
Pence could solve all the worlds ills and some of you would not be impressed... But regardless, that isn't even what I suggested.
I listened to the entire interview. Damning? MEH, I guess so, but in the most PC way possible. Mainly indirect criticism, but nothing like a Liz Cheney quote. He's trying to walk the GOP fence. He now has a book out (just a coincidence I'm sure) and is trying to separate from trump's corruption while maintaining GOP support in a presidential run. Not gonna work, but at least history will probably look favorably on his jan 6 response.
What a pile of empty words. The point is not the interview. The point is what he says about Trump and what he said TO Trump on 1/6.
Indirect? Once again: Calling him "Reckless", "part of the problem", "un-American", "dangerous" to his family, and telling his daughter that Trump wanted laws broken is "indirect" ? Take the blue goggles off brother. Weve never seen a VP go after a potus like that. Ever.
1_6. Pence using his honorable service to NOT speak to the commission says that he does not want the facts officially told from his position as Trump's "friend". The same commission has done very well to try and siphon out all those that were willing to destroy our Democracy for a personal crusade. Listen to Pence well..he is nothing more than a fundamentalist that believes his destiny is to fulfill a religious doctrine. That's it.
Of course not because we've never had a seditionist prez in my lifetime that put our reps/VP in danger, so no reason for a VP to step up. Where was Pence for the other 4 years that led us to that point? You see what u want just like everyone else. If ur not wearing maga approved goggles, they're still a solid shade of red. Your support of deSantis is exhibit A and I'm guessing you have always been a Pence fan as he reps the religious right. (No issue with that btw)
I'd settle for him not making things worse. As VP, he failed miserably for almost 4 years. . On Jan 6, he did his job and I'm fine with giving him credit. If he had done this interview right after Jan 6, he would be getting far more credit, much like Liz Cheney. Like I said, he is trying to walk the fence to maintain his political viability, not gonna work.
I’m between you and tilly on this. I don’t think anything Pence did was notably honorable, but I do think he handled January 6th about the best he could under the circumstances.
I'm not disputing that. I'm saying that waiting until now, when it's politically convenient, to repudiate Trump isn't impressive to me.
Let’s be honest, he’s never going to solve the world’s ills. And I know that was tongue in cheek, but really nothing has impressed me about Pence since he’s been on the scene and if he does run, he’ll do well to outperform Lindsey Graham’s 2016 run. There is no need to rehabilitate his reputation. He’s not going to win anything.
Well, I agree with you there. And I don’t know that it’s politically convenient for him necessarily, but I do think it’s selling book convenient for him and $$$ convenient for him. I’ll say that much.
Pence:" the congress has no right to my testimony". Really? Who the hell does he think he is? He needs to seriously get over himself. He was a public servant, not our ruler. Those who still support his feckless ass should remember that.
