By: Eric Fawcett -- November 15, 2022 For the last several seasons the Florida State non-conference game has been a measuring stick for how Florida basketball compares to the top teams in the country. For seven straight years from 2014 to 2020, that meant the Gators having a disappointing omen with treacherous losses to the Seminoles, with most of those losses being microcosms for the issues the Gators would face later in the season. I hope to see us come out on fire and play hella defense. Need an edit @Efawcett7 Add in that this is the first big-time opponent in the O’Dome in the Todd Golden era, and it’s a very important contest.
I appreciate the respectful pointing out of that error! I was looking at an analytics site in preparation for the game and for some reason they had it listed as being in Gainesville, and I wasn't smart enough to remember that last year it was in gainesville and this year it would be on the road. It has been updated!
Thanks Eric / ET - Good read. I must admit to being absolutely disconsolate about the Noles. Just for them I will play Wagner's "Gotterdammerung" tonight, will hold a prayer vigil and go on a 30 day fast............ "NOT SO FAST MY FRIENDS" ............ to quote Lee Corso! On second thought I will play some "Tool" take a snort of whiskey and schedule a date with my "blow-up" doll babe............ lol
I'm going to be generous and assume that the guys were looking past FAU and directly at FSU. Can't do that. I want to see us playing angry in this one.
Love your stuff E!! Thank you for what you do for UF basketball. I read everything you write. Grateful “Wes Chandler was Percy Harvin before Percy Harvin was born.”
Nov 18 not Feb 18...and didn't we win last year at home, not at FSU Otherwise great article. Hopefully we win big and if/when they're back to a full(er) roster it looks like a better quality road win
