Sorry if I missed this. I know there was some discussion early on after Napier was hired that he was going to do black uniforms at some point. But the uniform schedule was pretty traditional this year. We didn't even get the orange jerseys. Was there an explanation given? Should we expect this every year under Napier or was it some sort of coaching exercise where the players have to "earn" alternate uniforms?
Traditional uniforms are fine with me. It's been a pleasant surprise. I hope it stays that way. (I've noticed that it really works for Bama.)
All black coming in ‘23 for Veterans Day. Not sure why we didn’t do it this year. Black uniforms are coming to UF, but not without reason As far as alternates, the next two games: orange pants at Vandy and all whites at FSU.
The uniform process is way more complicated than it needs to be. For some stupid reason, it supposedly takes years for a new design to get approved and for the uniforms to be manufactured.
Also better to plug the holes in the ship before you start adorning it in bling. Nothing weaker than getting shellacked in the new hotness hype unis.
I like it when I flip the channel on Saturday and recognize the team that’s playing by it’s uniforms. I’m glad CBN is sticking to our more traditional look of blue Jerseys. I just feel like that’s who we are. Traditional is not a bad thing. As someone already said on this thread, “it works pretty good for Alabama”.
I'm a traditionalist as well, but understand that kids these days, and more importantly - players, may want alt uniforms. I say we compromise and do an alt uniform once every 8-12 years.
Seriously, who cares? I prefer that BN continues to coach and doesn't worry much about fashion design. Games have never been won by the uniforms.
And my favorite coach, SOS changed us back to those traditional unis..I remember him saying the Gators should be wearing blue
I say once every 50 years and based on the fact that we have seen them for the last 10 or so years maybe see them again in 2522? That's what I think!
