Jeff Scott had who at QB....Watson, T Lawrence, and ? That along with the talent on OL , WR (see NFL draftees), and ETN at RB can make an average Off Cord look really good.
13 HS state championships in 19 years, impressive to say the least. Charlotte hires Biff Poggi: 49ers call on key Michigan assistant to lead program after firing Will Healy
Jimbo will likely have some escape goats to save him.. From one report: HOT SEATS TO WATCH Steve Addazio, Texas A&M offensive line Mike Bajakian, Northwestern offensive coordinator Darrell Dickey, Texas A&M offensive coordinator D.J. Durkin, Texas A&M defensive coordinator Brian Ferentz, Iowa offensive coordinator Josh Gattis, Miami offensive coordinator Blake Gideon, Texas safeties Pete Golding, Alabama defensive coordinator Brandon Jones, Houston offensive line Des Kitchings, Virginia offensive coordinator Jim O’Neil, Northwestern defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson, Alabama cornerbacks Marcus Satterfield, South Carolina offensive coordinator Dale Williams, Purdue offensive line
If Michigan is in the playoffs, they won’t get their coach until January. I know it’s Charlotte, but that’s no good for this year’s recruiting class.
Gone as in fired? Which would be crazy for the Cowbells. Or gone as in to Auburn? Which could be fun.
He has a chance to go 7-5/8-4 this regular season plus a bowl game. An improvement every yr he has been there. Stupid to fire him.
My son-in-law is a MSU grad and big booster. He said Cohen was not very popular and they were glad to see him go. They wanted a younger coach to build the program and Leach has not been impressive (17-17).
This falls under be careful what u wish for. I'm not a leach fan, but at least they are competitive most weeks and will be bowl bound which hasn't always been the case. . Sounds like some ole miss jealousy tho, which is understandable. Have to beat ur in state rival occasionally.
Who knows but I don't think Auburn makes a big lateral hire. Kiffen, Leach, etc are names people throw out a minute after a coach gets fired without knowing a dang thing about what is realistic. I think Mike Leach was called for every coaching job in America according to ESPN. Any of us can speculate as well as any of them-- so pay us the money to be wrong! Weathermen of sports, they are. Realistically, Auburn isn't just a good Power 5 school with a rich football history anymore. It has a reputation for having alums who interfere in the school's business. Even if they are exiled by the school , they can exert their influence. They made it known they didn't like BH from day 1.The dude had to sleep on the hot seat before his first game. Their old AD took parting shots at the situation at Auburn. Coaches have a two year life expectancy in football at AU. Why the heck would someone want to go through that? Every major school will pay well and have a huge buyout--that's the norm these days. I'm sure we will hear names of coaches using this situation to get a bump and extension of their contract. The "smoke" will be a leaked call from an agent of a big name coach but the "smoke" won't define the real intent of the call. They will either get a good assistant coach or a coach from a good small school.
