Because we never run a 10 personnel set, and we have Shorter, Henderson and Pearsall as our 3 main receivers. He should have never been placed in the slot receiver position. IMHO... In a 10 personnel set he could have been on the field at the same time as Pearsall, Shorter and Henderson.

And Douglas just had a lot more snaps Saturday than Henderson and Persall.

Yeah, but I think Whittemore thought he should be a starter regardless of who else was playing receiver, and we seldom ran 4 receiver sets if at all for him to snag that starting role he wanted. That's the only explanation that makes any sense. He was playing, just not starting, and that just might be the reason why he's leaving.

I have to look at our games more closely next time the Gators play, but I believe we run 11 and 12 personnel sets, but not 10 personnel sets much if at all.

Yeah, NO one is saying he should be starting in front of Pearsall. :D

This is bad form... posting this kind of list about current Gator players. But, whatever. It's your opinion and you are entitled to it.

It was a list of “possible” players that may leave. If we are flipping 30-35 players on the roster it raises the question of who. Show us your list.

And for someone who has made shitty remarks about some of our players & staff, maybe you should sit this one out.

Your right about Trent. But, he really didn’t play much this year at all. Given the chance he will catch balls and lots of them. Tough to guard as big, great route runner, and great hands.

I never saw that kind of quickness or speed. He showed to be one of our most reliable catchers. I think he is a possession receiver on a team with almost only possession receivers. That makes it a hard choice of giving him snaps over guys with more size and power. Now his younger brother had some quickness if he wants to be a receiver.

These Mullen recruits that were supposedly incredible athletes but didn't play a lick of football. Or guys that had one great physical attribute but showed nothing else for 4 years. Coaches careers are over in 3 years now. Can't wait 5 years for a young man to develop.
