it’s interesting, there are plenty of teams in college sports with new coaches, transfers, etc that do really well and click right from the start. You can say all of those things and I get it but how do those things stop a team from playing solid defense? Defense is defense.

Didn't get to watch the game live, just checking in on the box score now, 54% from three?!? Just holding them to 40% from three wins that game for us. Reading through the game thread I keep seeing that the players were tired, curious as to why we didn't keep subbing and keep running. FAU doesn't have near the depth we do, this looks like one of those games where we tightened up the rotation when giving everyone fresh legs would have been a better choice. Some positives were our free throw shooting (82%) and threes (47%). Out rebounded them 46-37, that was a concern for me after barely getting more boards than Kennesaw State. 8 blocks is impressive, but the continued turnovers are not. It wasn't any one player, 5 players tied for the team lead with two turnovers each. Okay, maybe the player who had 4 minutes of time on the court and two turnovers needs to be handling the ball less. I think the 14 assists was a season high. Some bright spots, we played well enough to win the game, their three point shooting bailed them out.
It didn't look like they were even trying at times and would sag down to stop drives, which could have been what they were coached to do since FAU was obviously quicker. Wonder if it was those wonderful analytics.
First game I watched this season so far, and of course it's a loss. I swear it's not a coincidence. I wish I had the stats going back the past 5 years... I only watch about a third of our games each year, but I would bet that when I watch we only win like 10%... I think I might have to take one for the team and stop watching all together.... FRUSTRATING!!!
