Well, somebody somewhere still apparently thought re-electing MTG “owned da libz”, so clearly not all areas of the country has good sense. Not many of the dozens of extremist pubs were primaried by their own party, the list was basically Madison Cawthorne and… (???) Yes, some Trumpers lost primaries to strong incumbents. But there were numerous nutjobs that made it through primaries… only the general election was a sort of wake-up call, but it wasn’t exactly a total defeat of nuttery either.
Sure they did. For the past 30 years the goal of the Republican Senate has been to stack the courts with judges and justices who would take down Roe, among other things. Who exactly voted for those Senators if it wasn't Republicans. This election was a referendum on crazy,
OK, so pubs worked and toiled for 50 years to corrupt the court so the court could someday sabotage the pub party. Yep, makes perfect sense.
Exactly. Repeating what I said in other posts (directed to the Republican Party) be careful what you wish for and beware of the law of unintended consequences. Were it not for Dobbs with a little help from the defeated former president, the 2022 midterms could have been a wave election for the Republicans with the magnitude with the 2010 and 1994 midterms in which they gained 60 plus and 40 plus seats in the House, respectively. Additionally, Dobbs could very well have the unintended effect of locking a new generation of voters into support for the Democratic Party for decades.
Arizona Gubernatorial update. At current, Lake has a path to victory, but it's very narrow. Lake will have to win 60% of the remaining Maricopa votes to have a chance. Unlikely, but not impossible, since 2/3 of the remaining votes come from red districts in places like Scottdale and Gilbert/Mesa. Still unlikely, because in Scottsdale, R incumbent Representative Scweikert is running neck and neck with his opponent. And in Gilbert/Mesa, R Representative Biggs has won, but with only 55% of the vote. For Lake to win, she'll need to significantly outperform both Schweikert and Biggs. We're talking a 70/30 split in these districts with remaining ballots. Lake did close to these numbers on Tuesday, day of votes, but no indication the late earlies will be this extreme red.
Pubs have been trying to overturn Roe for 30 years. Im just shocked that this partisan court didn't delay the decision until after the midterms. Inflation is worldwide in case you missed it. And DT and pubs were all in favor of all the stimulus bills. Your inability to acknowledge such obvious realities is telling
Women are winning the war my friend. Take a look at the elections , ratio of women in colleges to men , rising corporate women executives. They are doing just fine . The white male from 21-35 have submitted to the women of their age window . The abortion bs is not going to affect 95% of women. This bullet point is way overblown.
I am not sure what point you are making here. Women are winning. The dobbs decision aftermath is a sign of it.
Women will run this country from the top all the way down one day . Not sure I’ll see it but u probably will. But they will always have drones (white males) to fix chit and fight wars
Can they carry decisions over from one term to the next? Or would they have had to delay the court actually hearing the case for a year?
Yes, but that wasn't Roberts's plan. He wanted to rule for Mississippi without admitting he was overturning Roe.
