4* QB Jaden Rashada Flips To UF

If you're going to "up the ante" for any position group, it's QB.

Making exceptions regarding bidding wars for QBs is something I can live with. If you do that for everyone, many of us can see it causing drama and tension in the locker room, and may not be a sustainable model for success.

 

Yeah I’m not a big Dooley fan either. I share your sentiments. My front license plate said “Wait he’ll we’ve waited 40 years”. It would be another 19 years before we actually won our first official SEC Championship.

I remember our first sugar bowl under SOS, there were about 60,000 gators in the French quarter on new year's eve. We outnumbered domers about 10 to 1. It was a glorius night. I just wish the result of the game was different.
We were happy though and appreciated ball coach fir taking us there.

Beautifully said my friend. I clearly remember when "wait 'til next year" wasn't just some rueful jibe thrown out by a frustrated fan, but an earnest expression of undying determination and loyalty to our beloved Gators. I remember the soul-stirring joy of beating Bama in Tuscaloosa in '63 and knowing in my young heart that we could someday be a team that we would take great pride in and that others would someday come to dread. I remember the heartbreak of fourth and dumb, run Lindsay run and 0-10-1. I was there when UGA brutalized us in a driving rainstorm to the tune of 51-0. It still hurts my heart to remember how devasted Tim was after the crushing defeat at the hands of the Tide in SECCG of '09.

Having lived through the highs and lows of six decades of striving and perseverance, sometimes it's hard for me to relate to the "what have you done for me lately" crowd - or to the cyberspace warriors who trash other Gator fans for occasionally wearing their hearts on their sleeves or just for viewing things from a different perspective. Like all families, we have our squabbles and generational differences, and that is as you say, unavoidable. But those of us who love the O&B are bound by the mystic ties of ancient kinship and mutual loyalty that can never be broken. Thanks again for your superb post. GO GATORS!

For any”old” Gator like me, this is an absolutely brilliant post. Well done, my friend. I started following the Gators in 1969- I was 4 years old and my Dad had been student body President in the 50’s and lived and died by the mighty Gators. That Houston win was my first memory. I lived through Doug Dickey, was in the stadium when Lindsay Scott scored and saw the SEC steal our 1984 SECC which they never would have done to the big three back then -Ga, Ala and UT, etc, etc.

I was there..happy the first half..then the "Bus" ran over us the second half..after the game..my SIL was impossible...she carried on and on cause she was upset we lost..had a great time in NO till then..
