Laugh all you want, I'm predicting right now. Team is coming together. There's a defense that is playing. It took midseason and probably for reasons none of us need to know. When AR is not playing scared he is a different player. You guys know more about football than me. Your thoughts?
8-4 is THE goal now. No one knows what happens after we exhale and whoever we get as a bowl opponent. If they have a chip on their shoulder and we have had too much turkey, we will lose.
It’s certainly possible and I feel good about us having turned a corner. I think Napier is getting the team to finally buy in and if we end the season in dominant fashion it bodes extremely well for next year, regardless of who is under center.
Why won’t AR throw a Hail Mary pass? I count at least 4 times this year he refused to throw the damn ball with plenty of time & certainly arm strength to do so. I maintain that (subconsciously at least) he doesn’t want his stats impacted by an INT. That is not being a team player. I still see him afraid to go for the kill as evidenced by esp. the second half of offense (4 times inside the 20 yard line red zone : only 7 points) and again, only 100+ yards passing total. I have him missing 4 TDs vs A&M and that was supposedly his best game. I hope you are right but IMO, F$Us Qb is better than AR and he will have to elevate his game to a new level for us to win in that trashy stadium in Tally.
About where I expected.... I'd love to have a few plays back, but that's every season for me. Coach has done a nice job in the locker room, these young men seem to be having fun out there. Seems like the roster moves were indeed (addition by subtraction).
Let's not get to full of ourselves, after all train wreck Jimbo and cocky aren't exactly top 5 clubs but these last 2 weeks are a nice validation of what CBN is doing, I think will help with recruiting MOJO, and hopefully we climb to 7-4 next week! Go Gators!@
#1 Florida is still in a complete re-build. #2 Chris Doering's "8-4 would be a really good job this year" is still achievable . . . so is a misstep and 7-5. #3 We have seen clear, undisputed improvement across the board. #4 Recruiting is being substantially improved before our very eyes. Actually, everything is. #5 I respectfully remind everyone to stay patient and not pencil-in wins in every game. Be happy with the baby steps we're seeing this year. Unrealistic expectations always lead to disappointment. When tempted, and I am every-other day at least, I remind myself of #1. We are going to have a LOT to celebrate together going forward!
I hope they come out in all black on black Friday and I hope we treat them like we did the limp cocks.
It’s doable but we have a ton of work to do. Also we have to hope none of our draft-eligible players decide to skip the bowl.
We’re the visiting team and will be wearing all whites, orange helmet. EDIT: let me see if I can find out what they are wearing.
Yeah, gotta admit they look pretty tough right now. Only losses were to ranked teams. Big victories of late.
8-4 was my ceiling for this regular season. If we end the season 7-5 I think Billy did a great job. If we beat FSU on the way to 8-4 next year we should go back to Atlanta.
Spot on. 8-4 will be difficult, but, it is definitely achievable. After that, all bets are off for the bowl season. When teams don't make the CFP playoffs, players have devalued all other bowl games by their lack of participation. For all we know, AR and Ventrell Miller could opt out of the bowl, and someone like a Notre Dame matchup could walk over us. Bowl games other than playoff games are unpredictable and irrelevant at this point. Shooting for 8-4. Minor bowls are nothing but exhibitions now.
Agree with everything except the Atlanta part. We're not going there next year unless it's the Peach Bowl.
