I'm also of the opinion that the last staff left CBN a terrible "locker room" mess, a mess that takes time to fix, to establish trust and cohesion.
First 7 games? 5-2. What’s wrong with you? You were expecting 7-0? Have you ever built anything????? Ok so again (like many other) here is a list: New coaches New QB different ball carriers New SC C New building New system New culture Less penalties Top rushing offense and doing it with 2 brand news backs Realistically I saw a win versus KY and maybe LSU The guy who UF told everyone- including FANS (like you)…patience Didn’t you hear him???
It's a jOURney. Watch the PC from last night. Napier talks about development. It's a process of learning and growing. As players learn and mature, coaches can tweak and scheme more the way they want to. Ventrell talks about halftime at tamu and a team meeting last Thursday where he opened up and broke down. Leadership is growing.
Where were you? 4-3 and playing 10 yards off the ball and #155 in the NCAA in allowing 3rd down conversions. Some of the likes of 3rd and 23, 21, 19, 17...... In the Georgia game we started to blitz and started covering receivers like an average team!
Vandy is a big game for UF, CBN, hopefully, will keep the kids focused. 3 wins in a row, in the SEC, headed to FSU has a nice ring to it.
Don’t double down. Thread start bad, this one bad too Not arguing negatives with. Couldn’t enjoy yesterday? Answer my questions/ you’re stalling!!!!!
Everyone should see Fee Bart's thread on this below: https://www.gatorcountry.com/swampg...ing-for-5-quaters.563939/page-3#post-14482573
d coaching change to aggresive in long yardage needed situations. the most physically endowed qb in the nation starting to actually like a college qb, foolish to jump to the nfl where a mature passing game is a must have. the team has bought into new coach and system.
Not sure why so harsh. The question of the defense's emergence is legitimate. The answers might be simple/logical, but there's no need for this type of rebuke, imo.
Offense: 1. Wright is no longer our #1 back 2. More 11 personnel Defense: 1. More down lineman 2. More man 3. TD playing a lot better Also TAMU and USC are bad teams. But we’d blitz Kentucky right now UT and UGA are still way ahead of us
Our younger players are showing up, AR seems more comfortable, and I didn't down Dean yesterday, either. Vandy is going to think they have a chance and the Nole game is going to be a battle.
If we play an effective run defense team, we're in trouble. I thought AR's passing was terrible. A ton of off-target throws and uncatchable balls. He throws off balance and into dangerous situations often. He holds it too long and tries to make up for it by launching missiles on short-range routes. I don't see the NFL using a high pick on him until he shows he can throw the ball. Against a good defense we would have had multiple picks yesterday.
Richardson was not a dual-threat QB for all of the first seven games. Now he is. It has made all the difference in the world
To me, every gator fan knew it was a rebuild year. No dline depth, Hill out, Dean just not the player I hoped. True freshman starting. Miller hurt early, plus new scheme. LSU lost by D. GA wasn’t going to be a W. Im harsh bc instead of celebrating last night (and last 6 quarters) negative nellies rehash whats benn posted a bunch. So I defend. Onward
True, as evidenced by the team reaction to Big Des taking that wall away and running. Damn near the team mobbed him about 10 yards off the sideline. Didn’t see that kind of team spirit with Mullen.
This is hopefully (essentially) correct I think. "coaching aggressively in long yardage situations" - It's hard to dispute this and seems to be backed up by a consensus of posters. I would add that it is also my impression that a number of defensive players, too numerous to list, seem to have really grasped the coaches more aggressive approach, and maybe this style is best suited to the strengths of this teams defensive personnel.
I see that for sure but the defense is like night and day. Maybe what others have suggested that Cox's dismissal may be the difference. Quite possibly he was cause dissension?
