I understand early a lot of the issues were at the QB spot and growing into the position. But how the sudden change in defense? They are flying to the ball and putting pressure on the QB. Is it buying into the system? We HAVE to beat Florisa State!!!
I think Napier told AR, "The defense wants to make a deal with you. You start rushing with the ball, and they'll start rushing the passer."
With the improvements, we would beat ky and have a better shot at ut and lsu. Water under the bridge.
that’s part of it RE last 2, AM team was depleted and cocks we’re just paper tigers. maybe it took this long to rid the past demons form the D. They did cover Uga WRs better than before.
Well, anyone one who said we had a lack of talent is lacking. We are playing more aggressive although, in the second half, we frequently looked liked scared money.
Defense 1) playing more man 2) more 4 down linemen and blitz 3) old and new players buying into/learning the system 4) addtion by subtraction (Cox coincidentally) Offense 1) AR is healthy 2) rb rotation set 3) Kitna progressing And as stated before am and cocks aren't real good.
Along with the points that have already been made, the dismissal of Cox seems to have played a huge part in turning the page on the DM era. It was definitely a signal to the young players that their time has finally come.
If you read any of my posts for the last 6 to 7 weeks you'll see that I have been advocating exactly for 1 and 2 and suspected 3 was part of it.. Thanks for writing it down on a list.
Could be he was "stirring the pot" I know how that feels after working with a bunch of drama queens at work-they love to spread and start something-try to divide and cause issues among people.
I’m wondering if this was the case. He clearly wasn’t on the same page as the coaching staff, and as a team leader he had a lot of influence. It’s all speculation but the defense looks like a completely different team without him there. I realize usc and tamu aren’t world beaters, but either is usf and some others we struggled with.
It's a rebuild people. Perhaps we are seeing some of those internal leaks getting fixed by our master carpenter, a guy named CBN.
