There was a plan for Democracy to end in early 2025 with election denier candidates sending fake electors to D.C. to flip the presidency. Too bad they all lost. Not to mention the WI gubernatorial candidate saying, "If I win, Democrats will never win another election in Wisconsin."
He's a smooth talker. I'll reluctantly support him if he wins the party's nomination, but I won't support him in the primary. He's just another in a long line of politicians who don't stand for much beyond themselves. There are much, much better Democrats. Unfortunately, Buttigieg gets hyped because he's a smooth talker (as I noted earlier), is cast as brilliant by the pundits (aided in a major way by his race and gender), and makes white liberals feel comfortable. That said, as you noted, he needs to win some real races, and I have my doubts he wins the Democratic Presidential Primary any time soon. There are simply more talented and accomplished Democratic politicians. Watch out for Gretchen Whitmer.
I went to Fox News this morning to read how they are spinning this. Seems like they are making McConnell the scape goat.
Democrat messaging is horrible. Terrible garbage. Fortunately for them republicans messaging is even worse.
There are republicans in the maga cult that legitimately believe the best way forward for this country is a dictatorship. I’m not exaggerating. I can post their YouTube rants if you want to hear it about how this is an evil country and they need to take control and tell people how to live right. And some people of that ilk were running for office. So yes, democracy is on the ballot right now. Big time.
It’s worth noting that McConnell was the only Republican saying out loud that the candidate quality was going to cost them the senate as early as mid summer. I’m sure they didn’t like him not being “all aboard”, but if the Republican establishment picks their candidates, post stroke Fetterman doesn’t win, Arizona returns red, Nevada and Georgia senate go with their other candidates and win. Pubs should have 54 senators.
I think GHWB knew Dan Quayle was a political liability in 1992 but also had no choice but to dance with the one who brought him.
How come they have not interviewed anyone who was unable to vote because they couldn't get an ID? Looks like Joe is eating Jim Crow 2.0 on the issue of voter access, which is a good thing. It always bugged me when Dems complained of voter access being denied but they never produced a single voter denied access to vote.
As much as I like Buttigueg, I'm not sure if he's electable. I think it's time to find a youthful up-and-comer.

From my perspective this election were almost perfect - most of the most extreme Trump loving nutjobs getting voted out - Senate narrow Dem majority to keep balance for courts - Red wave squashed - Republican minuscule majority in house. It keeps Dems from blowing the bank, but the small majority will make it damn near impossible for Republicans to unilaterally do a lot of damage and could bring up some interesting house leadership scenarios. - success of Desantis brings up an epic showdown with Trump. Either Desantis wins and Trump is purged, or Desantis wins and Trump sets the whole party on fire, or Trump wins and sets the whole party on fire.
New batch of votes is in and Lake picked up 10k but not enough outstanding votes ~ 100K. Wasserman hasn’t called it yet but I think he’s just taking a bathroom break. Good news coming soon!
