I agree that Republican voters are much more reasonable than elected officials on abortion. I truly hope that after the election republicans have a come to Jesus moment and ditch this war on women.
2024 is also a very tough map for the Dems, having to defend multiple incumbents in swing/red states while having no realistic targets of their own. Having Warnock would give them a small margin for error, allowing them to lose one seat or the presidency and retain control.
I think you are seeing this wrong. The pubs are waging war on women’s rights. Inflation and the economy are kind of independent of government. There are things government does or doesn’t do that turns up or down the kettle but both parties are against inflation. If you think trump was fiscally responsible I can’t help you.
My point is, pubs didn't vote to send abortion back to the states, they were destroyed by a scotus decision. Dems absolutely were spending like drunk sailors the past several years. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yes, Republicans did. They put Republicans on the Supreme "Court" who ruled the exact way the Republicans demanded. This is basically you right now lol:
The republicans had a twenty year plan to change the balance on the court. Mitch McConnell said no one should appoint a new Supreme Court justice in the last two years of a presidents term and didn’t allow Garland to come up for a vote then confirmed coney Barrett(sp?) after trump had lost the election. I would so support a fiscally responsible socially responsible party. The pubs are neither right now.
All of a sudden? No. Is the Republican-dominated Supreme "Court" doing the Republican Party's bidding? Absolutely. If the Republicans win the House this election, it will almost certainly be because of the Supreme "Court" intervening on their behalf. You don't get to steal a Supreme Court seat, a bunch of lower court judgeships, and have a huge chunk of your party say they're voting based on "judges" and then claim that there's nothing partisan or ideological about the judiciary your party packed. Your party wanted "judges" who think like you and will rule your way. You got them. You don't get to now pretend that they're "just calling balls and strikes." The American people aren't buying that bull manure.
I'd be a lot happier. If tomorrow the Democrats passed a law to add four seats to SCOTUS and filled those seats, I am quite confident when that "Court" started churning out liberal decisions, you wouldn't sit here and pretend to not understand why that's happening. Neither would I.
Maybe the voters were also smart enough to realize that Joe Biden and the Dems weren't solely responsible for the rate of inflation. May they actually have more sense than most of us as well as the mainstream media prognosticators thought.
Pubs corrupted the court, court pubs voted to strike down 50 years of legal precedent, pubs energized by their new “powers” propose some crazy extremist legislation in several red states.
A note to Mitch, beware of the law of unintended consequences. While he successfully packed the court ensuring the intended result of overturning Roe v. Wade, his stunt was also largely responsible for ensuring continued Democratic control of the Senate and effectively preventing what should have been a wave election for the Republicans and even longer term Mitch may have unintentionally locked in place support for Democratic candidates by a whole new generation of voters. Turnout among Gen Z and Millennial voters was much larger than projected last Tuesday, their votes went overwhelmingly to Democratic candidates and it may remain that way for decades into the future.
