Skink, that is certainly a "comparable" we would ALL like to see but HIGHLY UNLIKELY. Burrow took the position to another level his last year and he also had a terriffic set of pass catchers.

Having said that I'm hopeful AR polishes his game up with UF this season in anticipation for the 23 campaign. IMO he would bring much greater value to the position next year than this year.

"Potential" needs to translate to "Performance".

He’s always behind on crossing routes and slants. Makes the receivers stop and lets the db catch up and either break up the pass or get an easy tackle. Has cost us tons of YAC and a few touchdowns. I can’t remember a time he hit one in stride.

At least he’s mostly stopped throwing it ten yards over everyones head.

It's just that there is an idiot minority that are hypercritical, impatient, and think if a QB isn't on fire in his first game and perfect and win a championship right away then he will never be worth a crap and should be canned. They either don't see, or don't care about the majority of QBs who take time to develop and mature.

    Case in point.

Is it possible that AR has the highest ceiling, athletic, speed, size, arm than the other qbs. Yet, still misses open receivers, still throws high on occasions, still in inconsistent as in 50 something percent, which all means he still very much a work in progress.
We only have a small sample size of what Kitna can do however it was a good glimpse.
Is it possible, if AR remains inconsistent, that we could have another Franks/Trask situation. Franks was a dual threat qb but inconsistent. Trask, not a dual qb, but man could he throw darts. I guess we will never really know for I don't see Kitna ever getting a chance unless AR is injured or has some really bad games. I did like the times DM let both qb's play and gain experience. At least we could get a better feel for what we have but it's not going to happen.

I never said he can’t get better, or win a championship, or that he should be canned. He’s not in his first game anymore though, and he’s never been on fire. So far he’s been pretty mediocre. He’s cut down on his int’s, and airmailing every pass. Maybe eventually he’ll hit a crossing target in stride too.

If there is some justice (or at least a semblance of realty) Kitna will get some major work against Vandy. That is going to be the last game we can feel confident that the win is ours regardless of making any major changes. AR has already brain farted and Napier is averse to making the call.

“Always” and other absolute terms bug me a bit. My 13 y/o tosses those out all the time and I have to ask him, “was it really always every single time ever, or no?”
All good though. It’s just for emphasis I’m guessing.

AR had a great game vs tamu and James agreed. He had great numbers, moved and managed the game well. Plus he only threw one ball that could (should) have been a pick. But, James’ point was a fully-matured AR would have possibly led us to 4 more touchdowns if he saw what he should have and hit a few passes he could have. That’s teachable.
I’ll take that over 3 interceptions and a loss everyday

I bet your 13-year old has more emotional maturity than some posters here.

Equanimity should be encouraged and practiced.
