Well it is good for Florida Republicans that they have a protector in Densantis. There is a lot of hot air about left wing snowflakes, but I’m not sure what to say about Republicans who think they need a protector, and the guy to do it is a short little whiny guy. Seems kind of embarrassing.
I’m just glad he had the sense to not close down Florida’s economy during Covid. Thank God the crackhead didn’t win.
I'm quite sure I won't be. I am confident that DeSantis is only going to ramp up the violating of the Constitution as he tries to score base with the most rabid parts of the Republican base before 2024.
Would there ever be a pandemic that would necessitate lockdowns and other such measures.? I guess a million people dead wasn’t enough. 10 million? 50 million? Is there a point where loss of life supersedes GDP growth?
It doesn’t have to be an all or nothing solution. That’s the point. We knew in the first 3 months who was at the highest risk for death or severe outcomes. Those are the people that should have been focused on getting to stay home and make sure they were looked after. Instead it was a lot of fear mongering and scare tactics. It’s not just about GDP. It’s about letting people work and support themselves.
I just get tired of the Monday morning quarterbacking - we lost a million people, but instead of wondering if we could have done better than that, people are ranting and raving about income loss. It is clear, after the fact, that some decisions were not optimal. Some were politically driven. Some on the left after a while were driven by political fear. Some of the right were driven by political motives also. While in retrospect some decisions to avoid closures may have been better, at the time those decisions appeared to be politically motivated also, not motivated by an objective cost benefit analysis.
Let's just say that I don't think it's a coincidence that God sent a hurricane at us right after Florida reelected Ron DeSantis. Clearly, God knows there was election fraud. Charlie Christ won!
I agree I don't want him to run. But there's no reason to wish for him to be indicted, he's done a lot of good for our country and saved the republican 6 years ago. You sound like Mitt Romney making statements like that. And we dam sure don't need liberals like that in our party
I completely disagree with you; the majority of republicans are very thankful for what Trump has done for our party and country. The unhinged leftist and old wing party republicans hoping he goes to jail will never happen (actually it's Sicking to see) and it will further divide our party. I think he served his purpose and yes, his time is done. I agree I wish he would shut his mouth and let it go. It's time for new leadership, but I refuse to trash him and act like the wacky left
Typical response from our great liberal attorney when his candidate loses, he lost just like any candidate would have to our great Governor
You're thankful for him placing his own personal narcissistic interests above those of all others, including those of the U.S.??? You're thankful for him trying to destroy our democracy??? As a sociopathic narcissist, Trump will never relinquish his hold on the MAGA cult that worships him. He will take you all down in flames with fratricidal war against your new golden idol, Ron DeSanctimonious.
Probably, but the amount of support a candidate receives clearly isn’t entirely commensurate with the worth of that candidate. And plus, surprises happen. In 2016, a Facebook petition started to encourage Halla Tomasdottir to run for president of Iceland. She didn’t take it very seriously at first because she wasn’t even a politician, let alone one that should be seeking the highest office. She did jump into the race was polling at 1% when it was announced that only those polling at 2.5% could make the debates. At that point, she dropped the standard approach, and just went out to be a good positive candidate running on principles. She polled at exactly 2.5% on the day of the debates. She surprised the debate audience with her positive approach. When the final tally came in for the election, she earned 28% of the vote, which was good for second behind only Johannesson, who received 39%. Admittedly, she didn’t win, but still what happened in that election was crazy and beyond what anybody “realistically” predicted. Who knows what the future will bring.
