This season proves to me (Just speaking for me) that it's far more about whats in between the ears, and reading defenses, as compared to "physical mesurables".

I hope the young man (AR) stays, I think he would have immensely more fun and success at UF next year, but I'm sure he will make the best decision for himself and his family.

I've seen it said he has Gainesville Dodge providing him with a new vehicle, Fanatics at over $400K, and, now something new with Gatorade for a total somewhere above $1M/year. Those are pretty good side-gigs for a 20-year student.

    Yeah, not bad.

Probably about 12M / 4y guaranteed if late first round. Could probably get a 10M policy.

It really comes to what he wants: be the man at UF, or chase those NFL dollars. May hinge on how much fun this year is for him.

The problem for AR is ... he's not ready. Which means he would need to get a 1st round pick by someone willing to sit him as a backup for 1-3 years. Which ... NFL teams don't do very often on a 1st round pick.

To me that indicates that whoever is interested in the NFL thinks he can be NFL-ready by year 2 at the latest. Which sets him up very poorly. Because he's not, and I'd be blown away if he could be with 1 year on the bench.

Hell just handing off and watching Etienne and Johnson go would be mighty big fun.

30-32 last yr got 12/4. It gets bumped every year in the draft. So mid Rd would be 16-20 mil/4 and late 1st Rd is looking to be 13-16 million.

The NFL is so big and teams are so desperate that they will throw that kind of money at “potential”. Add to the fact that they have coaches or assistant coaches who are also good at selling their ability to turn whoever into the next Patrick Mahomes or Lamar Jackson.

If AR lights it up for the rest of the year, good for us because that means we possibly win out. Up to Billy to find the next QB1, it’s really his problem

Can't blame him. I'd go. No better gig in the world than a backup NFL QB.

But I'm a middle aged keyboard jockey. That's a "C" thats more like an "A+". But a 20yo that wants to rule the world doesn't accept Cs. So does he believe, or is he being told, that he'll make it in the NFL if he goes this year?

Trey Lance was the 3rd pick in 2021. He wasn’t ready either and it only takes one GM to get enamored with his physical attributes and potential.

I wish nothing but success for AR, but it could be best for all sides if he decides to go to the NFL. I will cheer him on either way, and I’ll trust Napier has a plan either way.

I’ve said all year I think he is gone. Nothing has changed my mind. Probably a 2nd round pick after he lights up the combine with his tools

Again, no disrespect at all. And I’m not sure what you do for a living, I’m a medical sales rep so I have no professional football wisdom but here is what I do know; that’s your thought and opinion and it might be 100% correct. This is why we have message boards to discuss things. All that said it really does not matter what we say or think. It also doesn’t matter if he is ready or not. What matters is whether or not some teams in the league would give him a first round grade.

    Regardless good points.

In the real world, no, he isn't. But this is the NFL we're talking about here and anything thing is possible, perhaps not likely, but still possible.
    Steve Spurrier disagrees with you.

His off-season trainer/coach was on radio last night in JAX and said he is going pro after the season. If true, this is a major bummer.

Big mistake for long term viability. He is just starting to see the field. He’s not ready for the NFL leap. He will not be drafted high enough to get significant NFL reps. He needs another year to get better.
