In my opinion, I think A&M may have made a mistake with their 2022 class. They loaded up with a historic class (which honestly showed promise Saturday because they started and/or played 7 true freshmen against us Saturday) but how much chemistry do they all have? Seems like they went Daniel Snyder/Jerry Jones route and just throw money and possibly outbided themselves for players without taking out time to diagnos if all these pieces and players go together. Like do they all vibe and jell not only with each other, but with the upperclassmen? These cats brought in NINE defensive linemen last cycle. Like come on man, what kind of backwards roster management is that? And this is off the heels of them taking in 6 DL (this is including kids listed as edge rushers I must add). Just looks like Jimbo was just winging it.

My thoughts are that the starters need to have the bigger deals. It’s ok that a qb is being paid vastly more than another player but that’s just the way it should be. There’s also nothing wrong with paying proven portal players to fill a roster. If I’m looking at how Napier has recruited, he’s taking quality players to make a formidable roster and has the opportunity to fill a few spots with big money players through the portal that have proven their worth. I’d rather let these $5 mil kids go elsewhere and use that money on proven portal players that have already worked hard to earn their spot on a top roster.

This whole NIL situation is a work in progress for every team. But history holds that:
    - More talented teams tend to outperform less talented teams, but
    - talented individuals not behaving as a team are often beaten by less talented individuals who cooperate with a mission as a team.

When a team like T A&M brings in brand new 18 year olds making bank, it is hard to imagine much of a team concept developing with older players, nor amongst these newly monied kids. Moreover, are these kids focusing on school/team etc. or are they enjoying their newfound wealth. I know what I would've done at that age. By contrast, Saban (and sadly, apparently, Smart) acquire great talent and mold them into teams.

Would UF be better off paying little to current players on the roster to go bid all in on McClain? Or should we take 8 3 stars and McClain versus 3 three stars, 5 four stars and no McClain? I believe that only a QB is likely to be worth that level of commitment. Ultimately, while losing a talented kid is painful, McClain showed some lack of character with how he handled this situation. I don't care that he mocked gator fans (he owes us nothing) but to be disrespectful of the coaches who recruited him, like Raymond, shows immaturity and lack of longer term insight (Raymond has contacts in the NFL). That does not bode well for him as a teammate.

Time will tell what is the right approach but the class Napier is putting together, how he is putting it together, kicking Cox off the team - all these things speak to more than this just being a "talent acquisition business." Getting talent is necessary but not sufficient and I think Napier is working this unknown terrain intelligently. He does need to win some 5 star battles, but hopefully they will be 5 star "team" guys, not 5 star guys that would rather "get their money" than play on a team.

And to add to that, I’ve always belt Bama and Georgia were buying their talent but you don’t see their players flaunting it. Much more of a blue collar get to work vibe.

CFB will run into the same situation professional leagues dealt with. Unproven newcomers getting more then proven vets/upperclassmen.

They do work, but Bama players have been flaunting cars and cash on social media for years.

It would be good to have a base amount that is shared by all as a team bonding and encouragement thing maybe even incentive based. Stars need to have a system that also shares so they are appreciated by teammates and jealousy is kept minimal. And taught how to handle themselves and not flaunt. Ultimately teammates should be proud their stars are getting paid well.

They absolutely were. Hundreds of Instagram posts with new Dodges disagree with the flaunting it lol.

Clemson's QB's family had a $35k annual income prior to signing yet they moved into a $1.6M house up there.

GA HS coaches on tape listing the GA boosters that Kirby told them which players to target, and Kirby literally lobbied the GA state legislature to extend the time frame of Freedom of Information Act Requests to almost the length of a whole season before the UGA staff has to provide documentation to the press now. (Gives them 3x the time for damage control and to allow things to blow over).

making it look even worse…Florida was on Cable (espn) the other game was on network tv (abc). Available Network audience is much bigger than eyes that have cable.

I will note, to be fair, that game was up against notre dame/Clemson at the same time on nbc. The noon games were not very intriguing.

NO SIR - Everybody gets 18K - From your Heisman QB to the 4th string kicker.

Anyone that is found to have recieved more gets the firing squad. That includes the persons that gave them extra.

I have no doubt the NCAA would enforce that...............
