Unless they gain control of both the House and the Senate the Republicans cannot rollback the funding for the additional IRS employees and contrary to the narrative, a number of whom are not agents and again contrary to the narrative not all of 87,000 are new employees, they're replacements for employees who have left the agency through attrition primarily retirement. It should also be noted that unlike the overwhelming majority of government spending there actually is a positive return investment for additional IRS employees although that probably doesn't matter to a party that despite it's rhetoric has absolutely no interest in deficit reduction.
Come on man. There’s not enough evidence to prove people are all cheating on their returns. Plus, it’s just more govt waste. And dems love to go after conservative business owners. Plus, where you gonna find even 100 experienced agents? It’s all bluster from the libbies who love big govt.
Okay, but what do you think the Pubs should offer Biden and the Senate dems so that this bill would pass? See, we are entering the phase where neither party is going to get something they want without giving up something to the other party ... It would be nice to see it work that way. Seems like sort of cooperation ended in 2010 when the republicans swore a pact not to give Obama any wins, even if they thought it was good for the country.... Let's hope they don't do the same petty crap, this time around.
I was just playing about chuck and Nancy. I’m good with no more legislation. Gridlock is a good thing.
There’s plenty of evidence that people aren’t paying what they owe or have delinquent accounts. I really don’t know what to say if you think that isn’t occurring. It’s not government waste to make sure people are paying what they owe. Agents identify ~$4,500 per hour worked of additional tax money owed to the government (hint, they’re looking at high income/net worth individuals trying to evade their legally owed taxes). This is a net positive for our government and law-abiding tax-paying citizens. If you think it’s that hard to find agents to audit records then you shouldn’t have a problem with letting them try to hire them. I can tell you it’s pretty damn hard to find 100 agents when you aren’t allowed to hire them in the first place.
maga world will need new bogeymen(women) if Nancy and Schumer et all go away. A maga wet dream: Hunter Biden runs for office and gets elected. Think of the ratings and rantings lol.
Well, if they are not willing to deal to get it passed, then @wgbgator is right. It's just voting for show ... like voting to repeal Obamacare 40 times while Obama was still president ... then voting to repeal it zero times while he wasn't ...
Same thing. Budget gets approved by the Pres, I could be wrong though Also false That law provides the Internal Revenue Service with nearly $80 billion in funding, including $45.6 billion for enforcement activities. But the suggestion that this would amount to 87,000 additional tax collectors scrutinizing the financial filings of middle-class Americans is wrong. Fact-Checking the Misleading Claim About 87,000 Tax Agents
I believe the wealthy already pay their fair share. To me this sounds more like govt waste and govt greed.
I know a local business owner that runs about $300k of personal expenses through his business each year. Fuel for his 6 boats, all food and restaurant purchases, trips (not business related), personal auto insurance, etc. Sure, that's fair.
The city of San Francisco “wasted” over $20,000 on a trash can. Following a four-year-long research and development process, city officials stationed 26 new trash cans—15 custom-made prototypes and 11 off-the-shelf cans—around the city this past summer before picking a winner. But why did the city even bother with the custom-made models—which ranged in price from $11,000 to $20,900 each—when the off-the-shelf cans only cost between $630 and $2,800 apiece? Yes, this is fair wasting other peoples money.
There is plenty of dark money that campaigns specifically for a segment of the population to avoid paying taxes to support Defense, Medicare/Medicaid, Infrastructure, Social Security and all the other things that make this country the greatest in the world. DT bragging about not paying taxes and then bragging about much money he made, was exemplary of the inequality in place. I am more than supportive of the IRS being able to go after people who just mooch off the country. Edit: My official nickname for Trump in the 2024 campaign is Dona-Mooch Trump
