Kevin McCarthy said first thing he’ll do is slash funding of the new 87,000 IRS agents once they take the House back. This would prove great for business.
And is Pelosi gone forever? Cool with me.
Senate is still very much in play.
Maybe pubs did better than I thought.

Joe Biden is going to sign the repeal of his own bill after it somehow gets 60 votes in the Senate?

    He’ll have to address it.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has promised that if Republicans win the majority, passing a bill to repeal new IRS funding will be their first legislative act.

It's all part of that annual reconciliation bill where they only need 51 votes in the Senate.

I suspect they will pass a lot of stunt legislation that will go nowhere, welcome to a divided government

Why would Biden sign that either? The best bet is to make it part of a budget negotiation, but they'll have to horse trade for that.

Not having to listen to Pelosi will be nice.

Her too. Nancy is a shrewd politician but she's too toxic to remain in a position of leadership, IMO. I'd like to see new blood in all the speaker positions.

Repeal? Need a bill to pass both houses and a likely veto.

Meanwhile, McCarthy is likely going to face a potential leadership challenge (the Freedom Caucus just floated it) that will likely be decided by...Donald Trump.

More taxpayer funded trips to Mar Lago to pay tribute to the king. The "challenge" is to ensure McCarthy stays in line. What a pathetic party.

Controlling 1/3 of government isn't the catbird seat the OP thinks it is. Bills won't even make to Biden's desk without the Senate, and that looks like a toss up right now, then Biden can just veto it.

That said, I'm not opposed to Pubs giving up something that Biden wants to get this passed. What do you think Biden/Dems should get in the deal?

You claim to like law and order but when additional enforcement, that more than pays for itself, is put out there to track down duly owed taxes you think it’s a bad thing? Are you evading taxes? That’s the only reason that would makes sense for a person to be against this. If you have a problem with the taxes owed then it’s a matter of tax policy.
