I’m pretty good at football but I know you don’t think so . But not terribly worried about what you think of me .
I'm sure you are. You are the one that said I wasn't.... remember that a few minutes ago? But then again, I'm not the one saying Stetson Bennett is winning the Heisman Trophy.
One good measuring stick is the betting odds. He's currently 7th there but I don't see how any of these upcoming games will greatly help him overcome the deficit. I think the best he can hope is to be invited which is a great achievement. I'm sure there are other qb awards he'll be deserving consideration. Heisman Odds After Week 10: Bo Nix Makes Major Move
Hard to argue against this, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him at least try out with an NFL team or two. Here's the crazy thing. Going back to last year's National Championship game, Bennett has faced four different QB's who are all either potential 1st round draft picks or Heisman contenders. Bryce Young, Bo Nix, Anthony Richardson, and Hendon Hooker...and has out played every one of them. Granted, Bennett has had a much better defensive supporting cast, but his play (as a walk on) has been impressive.
Huh? It's a factor in evaluating the performance. Do you not agree going against uga defense in athens is more difficult than going against UT defense?
"Front runner or should be" is a fair argument. "Stetson wins it and it won't be close" is what you said....and what most disagree with
I do but I deal in facts . This is what it is . Hear what you are saying but this sho not be held against Stetson . Kid is a winner . He has a great support system , probably the best coaching staff in the nation .
I totally agree. BUT, it's also a fact Hooker faced an incredible UGA defense and that shouldn't be held against him. Like Stetson, I think he has proven to be a winner
You realize he's actually playing well this year right? I was surprised when I watched him against UCLA. He was making plays all over with his legs AND his arm. Seriously, maybe it's the softer defenses out west but maybe he just finally turned a corner.
You didn't watch him play against Ga? All he is doing is a direct product of playing in the Defenseless Pac12. Put him back in the SEC and he's that same old Bo.
I think at the beginning of the year, I'd agree with you but I have to give credit where credit is due. He's had a very nice year since the UGA game by any measure. Passing efficiency in the 170s (historically he's been in the mid 120's), 22 pass TDs, 13 rush TDs, 1 receiving TD. That's a lot of scoring and he's in the top 10ish for most passing categories. He won't get the Heisman, but its nice to see someone who struggled for much of his career turn it around as a senior. I guess he may have one year of eligibility? I am not sure with the Covid mess.
