So true. But no longer for your avatar! Tom is still terrific but alone, at least for now.

He's also a Trump knockoff. Tries to mimic Trump's mannerisms.

He sucks but I don't think he's a sociopath like Trump. I sincerely hope he wins the GOP nomination even if he has a much better shot at winning the presidency. I think a step in the direction of normalcy for the GOP would do wonders for the country.

Only in the last couple of years. He saw an opportunity to move up his timeline to the presidency by taking the Trump lane, and jumped in with both feet. He didn't used to mimic Trump, but he recognizes that turns on a big chunk of voters and he is willing to use them to get to where he wants to be.

Aren't any of Trump's trials wrapping up before the 2024 election?

he replaced an entire school board in a democratic county with a board full of pubs. He did this

    1) Because the board was found to be negligent by a grand jury in the MKR school shootings (sadly, no board would have met the optimistic GJ standards)

    or

    2) So he could punish the board and the superintendent (who was fired by new board) for not following his mask ban rules.

Believers will go with the former but reality it was the latter.

same with immigrant flights. bidding procedures to follow Florida procurement law and sunshine laws? Why bother? Requirements for immigrants to originate in Florida? Give em a potty break at a remote airstrip in Florida and call it good and make a mockery of the law and dare someone to challenge you.

District maps, don't like em, tell the now fearful pub legislature what to approve and fight it in courts until the election to control the house. We don't need no judges interfering with our EO authority to redraw district maps, even if the EO isn't the office that is authorized by the constitution to do so. Minor issue, that whole separation of powers thing

Sadly, these are just 3 of the many examples of the EO authority being wielded to punish political enemies, silence opposition, and feed red meat to the radicals. Laws, even courts and judges, do not always matter in his decision matrix, building and protecting authority does.

the man is petty and will use the EO to settle private grievances and solidify his power. With no legislative branch willing to impeach or check him, what would he do on a national level? I really don't want to find out.

I'm not sure where you're getting that idea. He has governed this state like a sociopath.

I fear one thing only, A Trump/DeSantis ticket in 24. They need to keep attacking each other and not even think of teaming up.

Trump would have to change his residency back to NY for that ticket to even be possible. And Ron would have to accept playing second fiddle. Not going to happen.

And Ron would have to trust that Trump wasn't going to throw him under the bus whenever it was convenient for Trump.

I don't see any way Ron takes that offer if it is made.

I don't think Ron cares about second fiddle. I think he'd jump at it if he thought trump could win. No easier spring board to the Presidency than the Vice Presidency. Ron isn't stupid - he's not gonna hitch his wagon to Trump like that and cost himself a shot at the presidency in 2028. I won't be surprised if he just waits Trump out and doesn't run at all in 2024.
