If you only knew the superstitions I had when I was younger. I blew a game once because we were winning when I was watching the game on the recliner but lost the lead because I moved to the couch. Some things are more powerful than gameplans and practice....

We get more yards when we run more plays. Defense anyone.
Agree, when AR is running, it changes what the opponents do

Younger? I still have them now! I'll have you know that I single-handedly won us last week's TAMU game because I refused to have a beer until it was over! Do you know how hard it is for me to avoid beers during Gator games, especially this year!? You're welcome Gator Nation!!! :)

  8. Yeah, the snarky comment makes sense. What I could have said is we all know just Napier’s offense depends on the run, and the magic number is 210 yards—but 75 of those yards are also the magic number for Anthony Richardson’s success in the passing game.

I see UT 141. LSU looks like 211 but there was a sack so sack yardage loss brought it down below 210.

I like your opinion using these stats, but we lost to Tennessee and LSU because we could not stop them. We need to put together a complete game with all three units (offense, defense, special teams) playing at a high level.

Balance is the key to winning these hard games against ranked opponents. That is why we've lost those games... more so than one player on one of the three phases of our team being the reason.

Right now we are an unbalanced team that needs to get everyone playing together at a high level. Some of that was coaching early on but I think now it's on the players to make the plays on the field. Some of them are responding. And I hope we can close out our last game of the season on Spurrier field with a good hard fought, balanced win.

  13. Agreed. We need balance, but we need AR to perform well before we achieve that balance. Our early season defense was okay at the bend-but-don’t-break-too-badly but not good as long as AR did not turn the ball over. This defense cannot help with balance in all phases unless AR has a good day, and that good day starts with him rushing 12 times for 6 yards per carry. That alone was not enough against Tennessee and LSU, but it would have been enough against Kentucky.

In summary, I agree that we need balance. All I am saying is that AR is the key to achieving balance in 2022. Next year the team might not be centered on one dude because there will be more pieces to provide any semblance of balance.

I agree, the Kentucky game was an outlier though, because our defense played well enough to win, but that one pick 6 killed us in that game. And our QB was not right for the USF game either. But take those games away an most of the time it's all about balance and the 3 phases of there game. But we can't let other teams get free points off of our QB either.

So, in a perfect turnover-free game, or turnover neutral game... we win with a good healthy balanced approach to these games. We do not need a superstar at QB... just one that makes little to no mistakes to win. But when AR is on and we get all 3 phases working together? Look out... I hope we get that tomorrow.
