No Red Wave for sure. My only hope is that this anti-trump voting convinces Reps to bury trump and put someone competent on the ballot in 24. I'm not sure that will happen unfortunately.

Lol, I agree. The education system is controlled by politicians as opposed to data.

A lot of terrible candidates were out there, did anyone think Crist had a snowballs chance?

A few months ago a number of talking heads were questioning the dems messaging (I agree) and the pushback was that it was outreach not message. With better messaging, the stage was set for a repudiation of the new moral majority;) and yet.

Best news I heard was the post about exit polls thinking both sides were too extreme. Pecans vs Almonds, both are still nuts. Unfortunately nuts drive clicks and vote.

I bet stock market gets hammered. The wealthy won’t like that they are going to still be held accountable.

Market wanted gridlock. If libbies maintain control, markets go down. Recession looming and out of control libbie spending during inflation is the real reason market may show disappointment.

it’s not terrible in the pre market, down 100 points on the Dow futures. The stock market likes grid lock, so they got that.

It’s actually a heavy lean the other way. Tech CEO’s might be the only major category heavily liberal. Banking/wall street is definitely more “republican”.

The gop shot itself in the foot with the scotus decision and inability to put Trump six feet under. Red wave my butt. Let’s not forget the candidate choices in PA and GA for the gop.

Why should anyone be surprised? Trump thinks the world revolves around him. Essentially the primary symptom of Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

Hope it destroys the Republican party. If it does, then the focus can be destroying the Democratic party. They both are not your friend as an individual.

The albotross of inflation is likely the only reason there wasn’t a pretty substantial blue wave even in a mid-cycle election. Surely worth a couple of those Senate seats and 20+/- house seats.

Basically the main issue working against democrats was largely outside their control.

The issues working against Republicans (Dobbs, crazed MAGA candidates) was entirely their own doing.

Obviously, this is a generalization and some individual races have their own more granular issues. But in terms of the “waves” people were looking at these were the opposing forces.

It seems likely that Trump has secured a win for the Democrats in the senate a second time. It's a wonder all you libs hate him. I don't know anyone who has done more to help your team.

Yep, and it’s going to be entertaining when Trump tries to take credit for the Vance win notwithstanding Vance underperforming DeWine by like 18 points and forcing the Republican senatorial campaign side to have to spend significant money to hold what should have been a solidly red seat all along.
