Agreed. As a vehement non-republican-of-today, I was so disappointed when Crist was awarded the nomination. But, in reality, the Dems could have run Jesus himself and he wasn’t going to beat DeSantis this year. As much as I don’t like his Trumpy style, he played his hand about as good as you can the past 4 years. Hard to believe he squeaked by in the last election.

Florida is culturally Red everywhere outside of cities (Gainesville included because of UF), and they love them some mini Trump. I wish he’d at least pretend to govern for all of Florida’s citizens, instead of focusing so heavily on over exaggerated culture war issues.
Republicans have controlled the State of Florida for more than 20 years, but it was IMO considered a swing state because of Obama and Bill Nelson and some close state races, etc. Fried was an anomaly. It’s actually kinda hard to believe Obama won Florida twice and as recently as 2012. Maybe that goes to his skill set and likeability. Florida seems to be moving very reliably red whether based upon new arrivals, inferior Democratic candidates, fundraising, and/or other factors.
Judging by how big of a win this is for DeSantis you may need to claim 5,000,000 mules. This is an ass beating.
