The highest profile duty of the office Secretary of the State is oversight and administration of secure and accurate elections. The Secretary of State serves as Chief Election Officer for the State. You can pass the buck to the local guy, but it's happening all over the state. Maybe Katie should have recused herself from the position that has the power to sabotage her opponent.

 

The Secretary of State cannot be held responsible for a printer that is running out of ink of Mesa. Should she also then drive 3 1/2 hours if the next problem is in Lake Havasu? What happens next if there's now a problem in Douglas, which is about 7 hours away from Lake Havasu?

The SoS has oversight, but the local county officials are responsible for the actual voter registration, ballots, and counts. It's not passing the buck. It's addressing the issues at the source. If you are a baseball manager, and your SS keeps making errors, what's the first thing you should do to fix the problem? Blame the manager, or maybe replace the SS with a better player who can defend the position better? Now, if the manager keeps playing the error-prone player, and nothing changes, you can blame the manager for continually making the same mistake that effects the team. But the manager isn't the one on the field making plays.

All of these things seem to keep happening under the watch. This is the person with so little backbone that she refused to debate Lake.

 

Kemp was SoS of Georgia in when he ran against Abrams AND he purged 300,000 names from voter roles. Both Kemp and Katie should have taken a sabbatical while running for public perception sake.

And yet, they all seem to happen in Republican read counties like Maricopa and Pinal, where the local politicians running the local elections are almost all Rs. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but it is interesting.

But in reality, the Arizona SoS is just the last check to make sure everything from voter registration all the way to the final count was kosher. The SoS has nothing to do with the election until all the numbers are in. Any problems are all local, on the county level.

Your definition of adult needs to be checked. Especially if Lake loses. Expect a meltdown of epic, toddler-like proportions. How is that acting like an adult?

 

I'd be surprised if Walker needed a runoff. UGA Football is very important to the people of that state.
