Murder is down this year in New York so far. By about a third in October.

Hmm, we could go with outdated data (March, May, August), or use the newer data (October). Property crime is up, overall about 5%. Most violent crimes, including murder and felonious assault, are down.

NYPD Announces Citywide Crime Statistics for October 2022.

    Here was my claim:

    Here is your article:

Thanks for proving that the September data showed what the October data (that I linked) did as well.

And I see your posts perfectly fine. Sorry to show that your claims weren't really on point.

How is that? Crime increased again in September 2022 from prior year.

Are you saying crime isn’t up in NYC 2022?

He said murder was down, and you posted a bunch of stuff that proved murder was down. If I may paraphrase you: "just take the L and move on."

Exactly, he brought murder into the thread. I saw that and called him out. I put the thread back on track.
    Stop it.

Clinton did mock a republican about crime in NYC. And then all the libbies laughed. Boy y’all pick some nasty stuff to support.

I don’t mean to defend Clinton’s mocking tone. I only meant to suggest he wasn’t mocking people for being against crime. It does appear that the right is more concerned about crime and left more about racism. However, I would not suggest that I know what is the exact right amount of concern for these two issues, so I can’t pass too much judgment here.

Crime is a legitimate issue, of course, although everyone seems to be saying that voters are particularly focused on their pocket books this year.

Appears to me that people can pick and choose the extent to which they want to suggest crime is primarily a local or state issue - or even insinuate that presidents should get credit or blame for it going up or down. What's also interesting to me about crime is that Republicans rate it as a more important issue and often cite big cities as examples of how bad things are and how scary things have gotten. But in those bigger cities, which tend to be blue, Democrats don't seem to be as fearful as the folks who live in the suburbs or more rural areas.
