This is an absurd standard for whether or not someone deserves the Heisman. They wouldn't have won it without Bowers, either. Or Nakobe Dean. Or hell, probably not even without Kelee Ringo. You're the only one in here not using objectivity. You know what's objective? Stats. And his stats aren't even comparable to about a dozen other players who should be in the conversation before him.
I rewound? It like 5 times with my jaw on the floor. Usually when you are small or have a disadvantage, you go all out on hustle plays like that…that was alarming for a 12th year senior lol. super bowl cam is a perfect comparison
I wonder if that was the first game with two starting 6th year quarterbacks in the NCAA...I know Chris Weinke won the heisman at 28 so he is the oldest but he didn't play six years.
You think Stetson wins the Heisman and it won't be close? I beg you, do not go to Vegas today or any time soon till you feel more yourself
I am not sure why Stroud isn't in the conversation. He leads the nation in pass efficiency:29 TDs/4 INTs. By comparsion, Bennett is 11 Tds/3 INTs and #30 in pass efficiency. I know of at least one TD where Bowers bailed him out. Bennett does what Georgia needs him to do, but he's not someone that will carry the team. Someone got robbed if he ends up with the Heisman.
NO If SOS stayed 1 more year, Rex would have been a front-runner. Zook's staff didn't know how to coach him. there are likely 20 QBs that could do as well as Stetson that aren't in the running. Stetson sucked against UF when we beat them a couple of years ago, he's just a game manager with top level talent all around him.
Agree. Should at minimum be in conversation. He excelled where others failed, apparently, then move on. Kirby should be pushing the conversation.
Bo Nix Stats, News, Bio | ESPN Swap Bennett for nix and Georgia is still undefeated. I doubt Oregon has nearly as good a season
Here is the fallacy with that line of thinking. UGAG is undefeated. Perfect, let's look at the other undefeated schools. How about ohio state? Now if all things are equal with great teams, which QB has the better stats? I'm thinking it will be Caleb with USC or Stroud from OSU this year.
I think we will find out next year how be a factor Bennett is in their success. Maybe there is some age discrimination in the heisman voting. He is 25 as I recall.
I think they'll be fine without him but staying this season and keeping some continuity and experience was perfect for them this year. Heisman is laughable but he was probably a perfect piece this year after losing so much last year including a coordinator
If you took any QB from the top 40 teams and put them in as the starting WB of Georgia, and they are still undefeated. He brings zero intangibles to the table. You put Bennett on our team and we probably would have won only 2 of the 5 games we won.
I took a nap and look what happened, Bennett won the Heisman. Man. How good could he really be, we rattled him and he threw two pics. Plus he mugs too much, always looking to Kirby, frustrated, gleeful, faklempt... He's like that announcer guy from Bama who was really good, but not Heisman material. He too was a game manager. A system guy. Cyborg. But he is really good. I kind of want to mush bulldog poop in his face, with some whip cream in a pie pan. Not that I have a resentment. Go Gators.
You’re off on this one, my man. The Heisman is awarded annually to the most outstanding player in college football. It’s not awarded to the most valuable player on the best team in college football. That award is called the National Championship Game MVP.
Your takes in this thread are simply terrible. You'd think with decades of reference points you'd be able to piece together how Heismans are awarded, yet here we are...
