Why? He isnt employed. Pretty sure you can. I know they do in the NFL. Bengals hired Hue Jackson midseason after Cleveland fired him. It was a big thing when Baker got in hos face a couple weeks later
USF won’t get a strong hire till the stadium is built. Never understood the push back. They have all that land right off Fowler. Raymond James just never made a good college football stadium with the pirate ship. Even when they get the stadium it’s a commuter school no on campus attractions
I think they are trying to balance needs of future college growth versus a stadium when the NFL stadium is right there. Non college town in metropolitan area Rather than college town. Land costs high and difficult to acquire buildings for future growth. USF certainly fell behind UCF over the last decade. Scott Frost would be a good hire for them.
they got tons of land with the claw. That course is a dumpster fire and unless they are willing to drop millions into the course they could always develop it and use the surrounding courses as a home course for their golf program. It’s pretty embarrassing to have a D1 golf program and the claw be in disrepair. Never made sense. Anytime I travel I try and get on the college courses because normally they are in great shape. But the claw it’s a goat farm!
Have you ever seen that happen in CFB? Saban would be poaching everybody immediately after they got fired to help bolster his analysts. He atleast waits until the off-season
Yes. But a former HC obviously isn’t going to come be an analyst for 4 weeks. Are their examples of a HC being fired then immediately going to be an analyst somewhere else for the rest if the year? People say this every year. “Bring him in as an analyst” and it literally never happens, I’ve never seen it for any team. Even saban doesnt do that
Lol fair enough. I know there is a limit of coz he’s you can have on field, but I believe no limit as analysts. The problem I have with people saying we should fire Jeff Scott or Geoff Collins mid year is that first, why would they do that….move for a job that lasts 4-6 weeks? After getting a huge buyout? And second, show me an example of that happening in the past. I really dont think you can hire people mid year, I’ve never seen it happen before, ever.
The point is, it CAN be done. Nothing is stopping it. Analyst's at bama make 48k. If someone wants a few bucks for a kids college fund or something, so be it. There is no rule about it. And technically coaches leave during the season to take other jobs every bowl season. That is all we are saying. It CAN happen.
Jeff Scott will likely land a plum OC gig when the season is over. I doubt he’ll have to go the analyst route.
Well, analyst until we shuffle things around and make him an OC for next season. Dude was an ace recruiter in the state for Clemson.
