The main reason, beyond the normal already happening increases, is ACA mandated all insurance policies have certain coverages. Primary examples are mental health and and addiction coverage, as well as maternity coverage. That drive up the prices of many of these out of pocket policies. The cost of insurance for many large companies continued to increase at about the same rate because big companies typically already covered those things.

It appears ACA did actually play a role in “bending the cost curve” for government funded health care costs. Of course the costs continued to increase but they increased at rates below what CBO had projected prior to ACA.

One solution could be to have a publicly fund ACA option, somewhat like Medicare vs Medicare advantage. The amount paid for the public option could be based on a sliding scale of income.

One side at least got something done, which is clearly better to exist than to not exist, the other acted 100% in bad faith. The most telling sign was the clowns who started working in talking points about “protecting” the ACA in 2018 after fighting like hell to repeal it.

Republicans who tried to kill Obamacare now claim they want to save its popular parts

Poorer folks just shouldn’t have healthcare or have it consume 1/2 their income

Nonsense. I don’t disagree with the stated goal, which was more and better coverage. I disagree with the approach and solution. The stated goal was not the only goal.

It is always easier to wait for the perfect system (which never comes) than take the baby steps to a much better product.
The GOP continued to block updates as well as passing “fake” repeal votes they knew couldn’t get through. Politics and base feeding at its worse. Not that the dems are blameless, but our system is a hot mess for the less fortunate.

I'm not real sure what Obamacare did for us....I seem to remember the year Obamacare went into effect my insurance costs almost doubling.

Trump is such a dumbass. All his cultists in my Twitter DMs trying to justify this. They also like to say idiotic things like, "It's his turn in 2024, DeSantis needs to wait." Like how are they this breathtakingly stupid?

In politics you do not backstab your own team. (Yes, I know that Trump is on his own team)

    Political Analysis:

    This hurts Trump several ways:

    1. Makes him look weak and afraid of DeSantis.
    2. If/When DeSantis wrecks Crist on Tuesday, it will be in spite of Trump making Trump look weak.
    3. If DeSantis were to not win on Tuesday then many Republicans (including myself) will blame Trump.
    4. It's a stupid nickname by Orange Marketing standards.

Conservatives turn on Trump for attacking Ron DeSantis ahead of midterms: ‘What an idiot’ (msn.com)

Conservative commentators who are typically Donald Trump's allies turned on the former president after he went after Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Saturday.

"DeSantis is an extremely effective conservative governor who has had real policy wins and real cultural wins. Trump isn’t going to be able to take this one down with a dumb nickname. He better have more than that up his sleeve," wrote Matt Walsh, a commentator at The Daily Wire and a leading voice among social conservatives.

"Also, nice job launching your public attack against the most popular conservative governor in America three days before the midterms when we’re all supposed to be showing a united front," he added.

"What an idiot," wrote Rod Dreher, a senior editor at The American Conservative. "DeSantis is a far more effective leader of the Right than Trump was, if, that is, you expect a leader to get a lot done, rather than just talking about it

I just love the Trumpanzee fashioning monikers for others. If DeSantis is the "fighter" he claims.to be, call Trump the Dishonorable Trumpanzee from now on. Make it a real mud slinging contest for our entertainment.

Trump has no health issues. He has dragon blood. He sleeps 4 hours a day, eats unhealthy food and can take hits from all comers at all times. Of all things you could attack this guy with, you choose health. I do know someone's whose health is plummeting dramatically.

And a traitor Trumpanzee is except in the strictly legal sense. That is, he can't be indicted for it, but any patriot will vote against him.

The come on mans being thrown out there by the usual suspects is shocking, especially when this particular clown means to suggest the Trumpanzee is a better president than Jimmy Carter.

I would've thought he would have gone with something more juvenile, like Ron De-Taint-ous. That's more in line with what I have come to expect. Trump is entering the Conor McGregor crackhead years, as in the jokes don't stick as well as they may have with a certain (dumb) crowd.
