I agree with your sentiment. Unfortunately, this forum does not respect honest discourse. Posters should not have to walk on eggshells hoping they don't offend anyone. Condescending and insulting responses are common. As to your point, Kelly was mocked . but made solid decisions and was able to develop his team into a contender very quickly. Since losing to FSU , they are a different team. Like you, I am still waiting for CBN to dazzle us with his portal acumen and recruiting prowess.

The defense gave up 300 yards of offense in the first half. There was no indication of a half time turnaround. Okay to be frustrated on this board, as that is what we do. Not okay to text or post outside this Board. I have never texted or tweeted the AD, Coaches, players or recruits, but I can see others doing so. The fans that reach out to HS kids after they commit to another program are crazed IMO.
LOL at objectively evaluated. The kind of drivel that our insane fans post is hardly objective, the vast majority of the time. The game threads in the first half this week that I visited were horrific.
Why the name calling ??? 1173 is not trolling, CBN hired a stable of recruiting staff. Asking where are the great portal aquisitions or 5 star recruits is fair.
There are a handful of posters that bring a solid argument and discussion about certain issues. Many people get emotional in the game threads, understandable and usually that’s a pass. Then there are those that usually show up only when things aren’t so great and jump in EVERY thread with the same repetitive complaining. Those are the ones that get vilified and rightly so.
Perhaps simplistic but maybe age has started to catch up to Saban. He just turned 71, which was also when Bobby b started to slow down.
Cy and Montrell are pretty great. Watch us get a few this winter. 5 stars coming in 2024. Relationships take time to develop, especially with as much stink as the last 3 coaches have left on us.
Bama only lost by 1 point in each game. They lost 2 games in 2019 I think. 1 loss was to AU at AU and it was Mac Jones first start at QB. This year is similar to that year. Let's see what Bama does next year.

You’re just dogging our coach instead of actually objectively looking at it. Not sure you really want answers, but I can give you two. Brian Kelly is a proven coach with many years of experience. He left as ND’s winningest coach. Let that sink in. Secondly, LSU was much more active in the transfer portal. They got 16 guys from the portal to our 5. Yes, take a snapshot and LSU is ahead right now, but that’s a bit shortsighted. Kelly is 61 years old and is getting $9.5M to Napier who’s 43 and getting $7.1M. The free market values Kelly over Napier at $2.4M a year. Kelly just happens to be the flavor of the week this week, just as Heupel was an offensive savant and flavor of the week last week. At this point especially after a big road win where coaching showed drastic improvements, for you to continue to criticize our coach…it reeks of trolling.

Yup. Bama isn't outspending everyone any longer. Bless their hearts. As for the sidebar, I am not putting any stock in season 1 (nor will I put much into next season). If immediate success was an indicator of things to come, we might still have Muschamp or Shark Boy on our sidelines. I'll bide my time with CBN.
Back on topic…I mentioned this in another thread, but yesterday’s loss appears to be Bama’s version of Tebow crying in the SEC Championship game. That was the beginning of the end of our dynasty and it seems like last night was the beginning of the end of Saban’s dominant run.
A bunch of the studs particularly on defense that allowed Saban to reload every year are going to UGA instead of Bama now. Bama also doesn't seem to be developing players as well anymore, that's why you see Bama being reliant on the portal. Guess how many players UGA took from the portal is past offseason? 0! And before you say "well Bama loses players to the NFL", look how many guy UGA had drafted last year. Is Bama going to decline to a below average SEC team? No. I know 2020 feels like ages ago, but its only been 2 years since Saban had a completely dominant national championship team. But because of the talent UGA is siphoning away and lack of player development, Saban probably isn't the playoff lock every year like they used to be, but they'll be up there.
Bama is also 2 plays away from having 4 losses (Texas and aTm). They've been vulnerable in a number of games this season, one or two losses was more likely than not.
