This post is very nostalgic for me, since I went to GWU as a law student after graduating UF in June 1963 and I remember Georgetown fans chanting "lets go Hoyas!" I remember the GWU students chanting back "What the hell is a Hoya?" I also remember that at a game against St. Peters College, GWU students chanted "What the hell is a Peter?" The nickname Hoya is based on an old Georgetown cheer "Hoya Saxa" meaning "What Rocks". Hoya is from an ancient Greek word meaning "what" and Saxa is from an ancient Latin word meaning "rocks".
Here's your closest to the score. @JBSouthpaw will earn a pt for getting the Gator score correct. I'll calculate the MVG in a moment.
I was at work late and with no DVR option, only got to watch the last few minutes. Was great to see Klatsky & the other bench dude get on the board. Even better was their teammates' reactions to them scoring. Sounded like it was a good Gator victory with plenty to clean up & build upon. Here are the top Value Pt Scores. @GatorPlanet was the only person to select Will Richard. Player......VPS Richard......3.5 Lofton........2.7 Castleton....1.6 Here's your leaderboard after game one. @wa_gatorfan.........2.0 @JBSouthpaw.........1.0 @GatorPlanet..........0.5
