IDK what you mean - facts don't lie. If you really want to make a comparison between Florida and LSU - the big difference IMO is the head to head. LSU won a close game. Their defense is just ahead of Florida's right now by a bit. They have hit on more recruits in the front 7 and it shows. But look at their schedule. Both teams lost games they probably shouldn't have to 6-3 teams (UK and FSU) Both teams beat top teams that now have 2 losses (Bama and Utah) Both teams lost to UT - although LSU Lost badly at home and UF almost pulled it out on the road. LSU hasn't had to play Georgia. You replace an overrated Ole Miss team with UGA, and the only difference between LSU and UF is their head to head. And honestly, LSU being a bit better early makes a little bit of sense. They won a national title 3 years ago (2019), UF hasn't even won the SEC since 2008. They also hired a future HOF coach, who has like 300 games more experience coaching than Napier overall and like 200 games more experience in P5 football. They also hit a homerun in the portal - although many of us didn't know it at the time and Daniels has probably been even better than even Kelly could have hoped for. So you could look at it that way, that it's pretty close, overall, LSU is just slightly better right now. But again, Journey before destination. Do you know what that means? Enjoy the moment. Enjoy watching some of these players get better. Enjoy the AR15 development story that we thought might derail after Kentucky. Enjoy the defense coming together after losing their best player. Stop worrying about these comparisons. It detracts from your own enjoyment of the game.
When Kelly took over a lot of the LSU players walked away from the program and he HAD to use the portal to get enough players to field a legitimate team. CBN had a team in place when he got here. Neither had “their guys” both had to use what they had within a very short time frame. That is what I’m referring to
Had AR become a heisman candidate instead of struggling to make basic passes, what would our record be? Imagine a top 50 defense not being too much to ask. The answer is there’s not a huge gap. A few things separate Bama and the puppies right now. It’s just not that much. Maybe we do better next year.
The thing about bama is that so many of their good coaches have been poached. This will eventually happen to uga. In my mind uga has surpassed bama and don't be surprised if lsu makes it a 3 team race. One thing that cannot be overlooked is that all 3 of these teams have top recruits year in year out and are well coached.
LSU has been recruiting way better than UF and they have a better roster by far. Not sure why you think tgat..
Maybe my expectations for progress is just different than others. Maybe I’m being unrealistic. I just don’t see first of all this progression at the quarterback position everyone else is seeing. I look at other teams and I see quarterbacks playing at a higher level.
Something is clearly off at Bama. They have the best offensive and defensive player in CFB, their roster is loaded, but they have been sloppy all year long and missing that discipline that we are used to seeing.
Alabama’s offensive play calling is so nfl vanilla compared to what it was before. Zero innovations. But the reality is they don’t have any special WRs like they are used to having. Their most dynamic WR is their running back Gibbs. Their corners commit more pass interferences than I’ve ever seen. Georgia right now is on another level. But when the film was broken down it was shocking how many mistakes they made in coverage - but their D line is so good and gets so much pressure on the qbs, it hides their secondary deficiencies. A&M game reminded me of a Muschamp coached team. Took till half to make adjustments. Problem is a&m is a bad football team. Make adjustments during the game. And we had 3 offensive possessions to put the game away and we couldn’t capitalize. Spread the damn field that takes advantage of ARs skill sets, he’s not a pocket passer.
You’re so clueless. LSU has been recruiting far better than UF over the past 5-6 years. Why do you even present this question? The answer is obvious to anybody willing to look for the truth instead of just looking for more forums to bash our coaching staff
Yes they are recruiting better and there is a REASON for that. It’s called perception recruits look at teams exceeding and improving. Florida is improving but not at the rate LSU Is right now. I honestly think Florida MUST do better on the field before you start attracting players of the caliber we need. We have Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Ohio State and others coming into Florida and raiding our best. The only way to overcome that is improving on the field drastically. LSU has drastically improved as far as the “eye candy” test. We are slowly improving but the way we appear is not as teams like LSU
It’s not Nick, imho, Nick is not slipping, nor is he gonna leave like this. They lost both games on the last play of the game. Granted, they never should’ve been in that position with those two teams. It’s not easy keeping a bunch of entitled 5* motivated and in line, even harder now with boatload$ of NIL. Their stuff over there has gotten a bit stale. Both coordinators are not all that, and will be replaced at seasons end, imho. They have still recruited well but clearly missed on some guys. The rise of Georgia has hurt them too, a bunch of those guys would’ve went to Tusk in years past. I just don’t think there are any great teams now in this era.
Who bashed our coach?????? Question decisions is bashing ???? Come on get real you make a decision at work and it’s the wrong decision and nothing gets said?
How can you say LSU has been recruiting better for years and Kelly has been there the same as CBN and took over a team with less players than Florida?
We all see that too. We won’t win the sec with a mediocre passing game. A little luck is always involved. Life is like a box of chocolates
Facts may not lie, but you’re going to have to produce facts and not lies to support your argument. LSU was not in a much worse situation.
