Look, I mean, Brian Kelly is looking good right now but remember three things: 1) He's old as hell 2) He murdered a kid 3) He likes to rub up on recruits
In other news Auburn loses again. This time in o/t to the Cowbells. Astros take the World Series 4 gms to 2.
The vols remind me of Auburn in 2013, a perfect storm of things working, everyone thought Gus was also a brilliant offensive mind.
Hopefully. We'll see next year when he builds the new offense around whoever he has waiting in the wings.
Well thing is they hold the tie breaker over Ala and Ole Miss since they beat them so they essentially have to lose both games to Ark and ATM. Plus Ole Miss and Alabama play each other next week and one will have another loss.
It's amazing how perceptions can change so quickly. After playing one game, we were ranked near the top 10, Anthony Richardson was in the Heisman conversation, Billy Napier looked like a slam dunk hire. After one game, LSU was 0-1 having lost to a bad FSU team, Kelly looked like he was in over his head, LSU was a laughing stock.
That's why I said ink LSU in Atlanta. They could lose one of those but not both. Not the way they are playing. They have improved every week and don't look anything like they did against FSU.
Until FSU kept winning. Then the Vols go into Death Valley and drain that swamp. But that was before anyone took Tennessee seriously and then they are #1 for a week.
This is stoopid that the SG site is still only allowing a "Like" response over 5 hours after the Gator game. Lame and lazy.
Also why I’m a big fan of kicking the extra point. Twice bama goes for 2 and fails, if they kick the extra point the field goal wins the game
Wow, that’s what we get for pointing out the truth? Kelly is way ahead of Napier and it’s not even close. That doesn’t mean Napier has hit his ceiling, but as of right now, Kelly is clearly on another level. The truth is we don’t know if Napier will ever be this good, because he doesn’t have a point of reference. Kelly had that coming in, hence the huge contract.
How do you know how good of a back we have? Has our QB back-up played in any real meaningful games this year? I'm not sure we have decent QB backup, but nether does anyone.
It just depends on who those 50 players are. Ed Orgeron may not have been a great coach but he recruited well in a state that produced a lot of talent, with very little competition for LSU. (Heck Louisiana produces enough talent that Tulane is in the top 25. Look Kelly is a top notch coach, his record indicates that. He pick up some excellent players in the portal and he recruited some immediate contributors. He has won two National Championships… at the Division 2 level, but he has been coaching since collegiate football since 1983, and has been a head coach since 1991, and he has no National Championships in big boy football. Perhaps he would have been a better choice than Napier for Florida, but no one knows that yet… just like we don’t know whether Napier will turn out to be the better choice. No one can honestly say they know after 3/4 of a season for each at their new teams. Of course you are entitled to an opinion… we all are, but personally I’m sticking with Napier until they both prove my opinion wrong. Right now I’m just celebrating a much needed win, and a much improved defensive performance in the second half.
