It's not transitive, ie, A&M took bama to the wire; are nearly as good as bama; therefore, we are on that level. We took bama to the wire early in the season but were not nearly as good as them.

It’s always great when the Gators win an SEC game on the road. :)

I appreciate "it". I did not criticize the team. The team played exceptionally well.

Did you notice how often our DBs blanketed their WRs? Odd, since for 8 games we had to believe it couldn't be done. We also didn't give up any third and impossibles. There was no reason for you to believe our front seven could play that well or that what appeared to be happening(again) the first half would be discontinued in the second. Our DBs were there, making catches difficult. Hmm.

By the way, you were not saying we dominated TAM start to finish, were you? We lost the first half. We also had three drives in the second half, two with short field(?), that would have all but ended TAMU's come back had we scored, because I believe we held a 10 point lead during those three possessions. We even missed a chip shot FG that would have put us up 13 and that alone would have made a comeback unlikely.

Yes, I’m saying that. We were basically at-willing on O, D was usual unsound but you could already see that King was feeling the heat. He was just beginning his descent into the weeds even in H1. H2 he was basically toast.

Hats off to our “new” DE’s, who were terrors, and also making me rethink my analysis of BCox all year. No doubt there was some extra motivation to prove themselves but it was good.

We were a couple plays from sniffing 60. It was a no-doubter early, you could see it coming.

We toyed with them on 4th and goal from the two. Missed a chippie. It was solid top to bottom.

Bad team? Sure. And that’s how you treat them. Bama would def like 41, your point about reductiveness is taken, and I agree with that.

Our D did have a poor start but really liked their play overall.

You can’t lose the first half and say we dominated. We didn’t. We owned the second half, no doubt, in spite of a few poor 3 and outs. It worked today. Hope what we saw was a defense that can shut some teams down. We will need it. Watching fsu miami. Gosh I hope we hand it to pretty boy’s team.

Do you find it odd we appeared to be better without Cox? I guess he looked good in practice.

Can anyone link me to Jumbo’s post presser?

That would not make a ten point lead was insurmountable. I said a TD on one of those drives would have put it out of reach.

    2022-23 AT A GLANCE

    • Florida welcomes new head coach Todd Golden, who comes to the Gators after three seasons as head coach
at San Francisco, where he compiled a 57-36 record and led the Dons to their first NCAA Tournament bid since
1998 and their first at-large selection since 1982.

    • In the midst of the coaching transition, the Gators kept a substantial core of returners in the fold with Colin
Castleton, CJ Felder, Jason Jitoboh, Myreon Jones, Niels Lane and Kowacie Reeves all back in Gainesville.

    • Two-time All-SEC frontcourt man Colin Castleton returns to UF, opting to exercise his fifth year of eligibility
following off season shoulder surgery. Also utilizing his fifth collegiate season, Myreon Jones started 21 games
last season and averaged 8.5 points per game, dropping a career-high 23 points in the home win vs. Georgia.

    • Kowacie Reeves turned in a strong postseason, averaging 16.3 points over the Gators’ three tournament
games, including a career-best 21 vs. Texas A&M in the SEC Tournament.

    • Jason Jitoboh emerged for the Gators filling in for Castleton last season before suffering a season-ending eye
injury at Tennessee. Jitoboh was coming off a career-best 12-point outing at Ole Miss when he was hurt.

    • Niels Lane came on late in the season and had a career game in the SEC Tournament, posting 16 points and nine
rebounds vs. Texas A&M. CJ Felder had three double-figure scoring games early and shot well from 3-point range but was limited down the stretch by injury.

    • The Gators added grad point guard Kyle Lofton (Saint Bonaventure), a three-time All-A-10 player who scored
1,613 points in four seasons with the Bonnies. UF also brings in a trio of transfers who all have three years of eligibility remaining: junior Trey Bonham (VMI), sophomore Alex Fudge (LSU) and sophomore Will Richard (Belmont).

    • Bonham averaged 11.3 points over two seasons at VMI, and Richard averaged 12.1 per game during his fresh-
man campaign at Belmont. Jacksonville native Alex Fudge looks to make a jump after limited opportunities during his freshman season at LSU

    • UF also added a pair of freshmen who shared a backcourt at Orlando’s Dr. Phillips High School in Denzel Aber-
deen and Riley Kugel. The duo led Dr. Phillips to its first state championship in 2021. The Gators also signed big man Aleks Szymczyk, who comes from Frankfurt, Germany.

    • Carlin Hartman joins the Florida staff as associate head coach, bringing 22 years of collegiate coaching experience including five seasons on Lon Kruger’s staff at Oklahoma. Korey McCray also comes to UF as associate head coach, bringing experience at Mississippi State, LSU and UCLA to the Gators. Assistant coach Kevin Hovde rounds out the coaching staff, coming from his alma mater Richmond after coaching five seasons with Golden at San Francisco.

    • The Gators’ support staff includes new faces Jonathan Safir (director of basketball strategy and analytics), Victor Lopez (strength & conditioning), Gator great Taurean Green (director of player development), Jordan Talley (player development assistant) and Kevin Olsen (video coordinator).

    • Associate AD for Sports Health Dave Werner, UF’s longtime athletic trainer, returns for his 19th season with the
program and his 29th at Florida

Careful! There are some on this board that might think you are suggesting scheme could have been the issue. Who would have thought pressuring the QB and playing tight coverage could be advantageous. Nawww! We have to recruit our way out of our defensive woes they told us. Hey, I'm in favor of recruiting top talent, but to suggest the soft zone has not contributed to the D's problems is a bit naive.

Your quote to the poster was so irrelevant that of course my point had to be taken as condescending even though it was much more meant to be a point of view that one might consider. Win or lose it must be said that finding anger towards another's view is rather ridiculous.

As I pointed out, I wasn't angry, and my post was completely relevant as he doesn't post anything but criticism. Either way, he finds fault with them, and can't just enjoy a victory. By the way, I don't get angry over ignorance.
