they may have been more talented than us when the season started, but they were missing most of their team. as fate would have it, the guy who Targeted on Pearsall was their best recruit (top 21-overall) in 2020.
ill take it being that they’ve recruited elite recently so it isnt our fault they havent been prepared lol
If it is wide open, then is it a qb problem or scheme problem? We ran 78 plays today. How many were two man, max protect? I am not going to focus on deficiencies after a win this time around. Complaining about 2 or 3 out of 78 seems silly to me.
Just trying to figure out how to get our best playmakers and run after catch the ball. We have some with a lot of potential and no traction or AR can’t get them the ball. Folks keep saying we have no speed or talent at receivers, but man we have a lot of good backs. The quick hits and running have been missing all year, until a few today. So in summary, yes talking out of my arse looking for anything to make the Gators Mighty! ymmv
A game like this is why I'm giving Napier time to put into place what he thinks a program should be like. If you asked me before the season that we would beat them by 17 in their house, I would have said GTFOOH. We don't win road games and definitely not against SEC West teams and A&M features one of the largest home crowds in all of college football. AR wasn't even fazed by it.
He was the only WR taken in the '22 class, from the Houston area. Was considered underrated as a three star prospect. Only other catch I remember was the 80 yard TD reception from Kitna.
By the way, Jumbo sits at 3-6 with Auburn and LSU left on the schedule. He will not beat them both. This will be Jumbo’s first losing season. Kevin Sumlin has a better tecord at aTm than Jumbo.
What? I said we didn't run it much, which to me is a positive. How is saying we stopped doing something that was ineffective a complaint?
You sure you're in the right place? Florida's strength is rushing. We're near the op of ALL FBS teams in rushing. We didn't run it much? From GatorGrowl's post game notes: ● The Gators have rushed for 100-plus yards in 11-straight games including all nine games so far this season. o The Gators have now rushed for 100-plus yards in 20 of their last 22 games. ● Florida rushed for 200-plus yards for the sixth time in nine games this season and for the fourth time in the last five games. Maybe I don't understand your point.
If Jimbo doesn’t make a bowl I’d be sending some subtle hints that there might well be a spot on our roster for some of those 5* players. Just sayin’.
People are testy these days. I think it's ok to be happy we won and see positives while also acknowledging this is currently a bad aTm team that was depleted. The thing is we have blown games to even depleted teams and mediocre to bad ones as well so I'll take it along with the positives.
I don't know if anyone mentioned this, but did you see the guy with the App. State gear in the crowd-you know Ole Miss was off this weekend. LOL.
I believe you did, this was my original comment. Maybe I missed them, but I don't recall nearly as many of the max protect 2 man route and a check down that is never used plays. Perhaps after 8 games of being ineffective Billy finally pulled the plug on those gems. Feel like this game had the most "just do what we need to do to win" rather than "run the system" Wasn't talking about run as in rushing, was referring to running a specific play.
We are not good. Let’s not mince words. What’s encouraging is our defense finally showed up and made some stops. We just need an average defense and AR playing to his strengths, which is running the ball, we have a good chance to win out.
