Powells, shemar, boone, etc, I thought a bunch of folks stepped up and played pretty good in 2nd half.
A bit of pressure helps everything. Princely quick stepping around rather than through the tackle was very nice.

What we saw today from tamu was a team lacking confidence and lacking players from injury, illness and suspension.

What we saw from UF was what we have seen all year. A team that fights from start to finish.

It only lasted about 25 mins. And 20 of that was commercial breaks.

There were some minor adjustments but I think you have to credit the players for executing their assignments better. There is a lot of "want to" needed by all 11 to play good defense. That wasn't there in the first half, IMO.

This. Just read they had QB and backup QB out. 14 or so total to illness and recent injury.

I love the win and I’m glad the effort was there. They weren’t missing any OL so…..

We can always use more talent, that has never been a question, but we don't have a complete lack of talent on our team that some people have intimated.

The problem we have is a square peg in a round hole, so to speak, of players versus the schemes these coaches like to run. And for some crazy reason they have not tried to do more adapting to the players than many of us have wanted them to.

The coaches that do NOT work to adapt their set schemes to the player personnel are the coaches that end up out of coaching eventually. Those are the dinosaurs of yesteryear. You have to adapt to the changing game of football. And you also have to grow and challenge the norm of your own schemes...

I want a leader... an inventor... an innovator of football schemes and set pieces for a coach. Yes, I want someone like Steve Spurrier, who was way ahead of the curve in coaching and scheming.

Clock management and time-outs management is football coaching 101, IMHO. That should be a mastered prerequisite to even set foot on Steve Spurrier field as our HBC.

Play-calls should have been designed more properly, in an order of need per yards, and placed on a cheat-sheet so that you already have it handy when you move the ball down field. I'm not sure we have that, but hopefully we do...

And can we please practice the 2 minute drills more effectively. Part of that is on the coaches to come up with the play-calls faster than they seem to be calling them.

Someone said we should NOT be questioning the coaches on these boards... I laughed out loud, thinking that these were opinion boards/forums designed specifically for just that reason. For that and to enjoy other people's opinions on what's happening during games, and all things involving Gator Sports.

I along with others here realized that the coaches were in error when we ran the kickoff back for low gains, instead of fair-catching the ball and starting on the 25 yard line. Only because we didn't have the right man taking these kickoffs. Trevor Etienne is the right man for that job, but we need him in the running game on offense more so than kick returner. And we the fans here were right... the coaches then saw their error, and they finally decided to change their way of handling kickoffs. Now we fair-catch the ball and start from the 25.

This is why we have these opinion boards/forums... to question the coaches... and to hear and read other people's opinions on what we should or should NOT do in the football games.

I have fun corresponding with all of you great Gator football fans on these boards... and in all of the Gators' sports forums here. I get real satisfaction when I get things right and the coaches see their errors and change it for the better.

I can see that these coaches are listening to the fans and that great news... Maybe... huge maybe, we can make a run at the SECCG next year. But that all depends on how much of the real talent stays in Gainesville for next year... add to that the 2023 recruiting class... and 3 portal transfer slots and we will be much improved, IMHO.

THE game, IMO, is going to be next week against USCe. We win it and we are on our way. Otherwise, we are still staring at a 6-6 record.

I don't think it is a coincidence that AR looked better with more 3 WR sets due to Zip being out. Also, they spread out more. Didn't get frustrated seeing all 11 offensive players between the hashes. Will never understand not making a D defend 1/3 of the field.

Good thing the coaches read the board. If they processed faster you would see quicker implementation of your observations
