Defended CBN on almost everything but the end of half management is indefensible. 2 possessions in last 2:38 which resulted in one punt and running the clock out with 3 TOs. With ATM getting that kickoff that is a game changing sequence. Just brutal.
Napier’s entire MO is to play every game close and win it in the 4th quarter. Look at how many close games he had at ULL. To his credit, he has an incredible record in close games. But how sustainable is it?
Sadly I would be stunned if we didn't. It would just be so amazing if we made some adjustments at halftime and got some stops. But I have zero confidence. I want to be proved wrong so badly, come on D have some pride...get a turnover!
woah, we have worse defense talents than Sam Houston. If TAM scores 50 points on us, we should leave the DC in Texas.
They don't have us figured, we're just running BAD personnel groupings out there. I'm broken record, but the drives where 0, 16, 23, and 22 are all on the field are automatic touchdown drives. Two series in a row in the 2nd QT we had series where 16 and 23 stayed on the bench and even one where 0 stayed on the bench (Wilson was in for 0, Perkins for 16 and looked like a combo of Helm and Kimber for 23). The two drives where half those starting four players were swapped for others yielded 3 and 0 points. If we come outta the half with the same ole first team grouping of 0, 16, 23 and 22, which is the group we ended the half with, it's damn near a guaranteed 7 points for the Aggies.
Lol... that's not his motto... Scared money don't make money. But yes, he plays scared at the end of the first half of games... all year long.
I miss Dan Mullen. At least with Mullen, you knew he could take the right QB and really do something special with him. How he handled Trask was amazing. We actually had 3 pretty solid years in the Top 10 with Mullen. We fell out of the Top 10 after the Oklahoma loss, but we knew that was coming with all the hold-outs. Basically 3 Top 10 seasons back-to-back-to-back. Now we have Napier...
Please take a rest of the game time-out. He means that neither coach was interviewed on the field at halftime, which is pretty much standard.
IF they do not yet have some semblance of a two minute offense ready, how in the hell did they call that slant a month ago against LSU... the slant that gave the game to LSU? That was the play they called with a QB they clearly don't trust? This staff does not yet have installed the situational schemes that should be anticipated. And this is a pivotal game for our staff, and for their recruiting.
As much as the last few minutes were disappointing on offense....we scored 20 points by halftime. That's pretty damn good. Our defense?....Oh My God. We literally stopped A&M one time. How are you going to win games when the other team's punter can take an hour nap and still not miss any action?
Toney isn't going anywhere, I saw a stat that read something like this- Raging Cajuns toneys year #1 defense ranked 120's nationally Year #2 defense moved up to 70's nationally Year three defense ranked #44 nationally Last year, year #4 defense ranked #8 Given that , I can see Napier keeping toney and his scheme for the foreseeable future. I am willing to see it thru if he can get those results or better.
