According to Fox News, this was a huge risk to trick or treaters last Monday. 5 days later and not a single reported case. Of course, this was stupid from the jump as people smuggling this stuff in want to sell it not pump it into Reese's PB Cups. But according to Fox News, you should have been VERY AFRAID!!!!! As always.
Didn't see or even hear about this story. Were they proclaiming the Radical Left, BLM, ANTIFA, or drag queens were out to drug their kids? Would not be surprised in this day and age...
This just shows what a valuable service Fox News plays. Look at all the deaths they avoided sounding the alarm. They obviously deterred all those drug dealers that were going to lose thousands of dollars giving free fentanyl to kids.
It's a surefire way to keep the stigma of addiction and those who suffer from it humming along. Keep sounding the panic alarm. Just like saying, first responders are dying from merely touching OD victims, now people will watch someone actively oding while too afraid to help.
You guys are too funny, I just started a thread correcting your lies. It was the DEA not Fox that pushed this story.
OK so there is a Fox story that mentions Halloween once that followed the lead of a warning from DEA? You showed no link to start the thread and the link you added after I questioned the OP is very weak, mentioning Halloween once. That is what I mean about the big lie.
Fair point. But, there is an entire narrative within the right wing that it's all due to Biden's border problem. No one is disputing that the drugs aren't the problem, just the narrative in right wing 'media' that's blaming illegals at the southern border. For the record, it's not the immigrants to blame here, it's American citizens in regards to demand AND trafficking. https://www.cato.org/blog/fentanyl-smuggled-us-citizens-us-citizens-not-asylum-seekers Here are facts: In 2021, U.S. citizens were 86.3 percent of convicted fentanyl drug traffickers—ten times greater than convictions of illegal immigrants for the same offense. Over 90 percent of fentanyl seizures occur at legal crossing points or interior vehicle checkpoints, not on illegal migration routes, so U.S. citizens (who are subject to less scrutiny) when crossing legally are the best smugglers. Just 0.02 percent of the people arrested by Border Patrol for crossing illegally possessed any fentanyl whatsoever.
My issue is these threads that are simply started to bash the right by bashing FOX who incidentally I seldom watch. I just think when people foolishly make a claim they should back it up. No link was given by the OP or any of the first posters so I googled fentanyl laced halloween candy and what came up were warnings by the DEA not by FOX. I thought it was kind of foolish to have a thread backed with no facts or not even a story.
Maybe we should add CNN to the list. Pennsylvania police department warns parents after finding THC-laced candies that look like the harmless kind | CNN Seems CNN too rightfully had some concerns about drugged Halloween candies.
From the CNN link in my post that you just quoted. "With Halloween quickly approaching, the Johnstown Police Department is warning parents that the edibles can be easily mistaken for real candy." Oops!
Edibles aren't laced. They are made that way on purpose. Parents should be more careful leaving their weed out where the kids can get to them. That's on them, not the makers of the edibles.
That's absolute bullshit... it was not a Halloween warning. Stop propagating lies. What is wrong with you?!
You have lost the ability to think rationally. CNN had a link to a story on a Police release. Fox News played the fear mongering segments all month. Ok linked just a few. Just forget it. It’s useless.
You guys are so trying to twist a story to meet your wishes. Just google fentanyl laced halloween candy you will get stories from the DEA, from sheriffs from CNN from FOX and from every news media out there. Ever since I was a kid in the 1950s parents have been told by the news media to check their kids halloween candy. The DEA came out with an announcement and the news media as a whole ran with it, now you are pointing the finger at FOX for trying to stir up shit.
