Didn't mean to imply that it was. But without it, any other measures BN might undertake to seek the "total answer" would be infinitely more difficult if not impossible.

It seems that he's been outplayed and probably out talented as well. Life in the fast lane can be a you know what.

Nayquan unfortunately hasn't looked the same since his injury in the bowl game. Reminds me of Malik Davis after his injuries. Hard to say whether it's just the healing process, or whether he has lost some confidence in his health that is affecting him on the field. I like him a lot, but, it does seem like he has slipped into fourth spot on the RB depth chart, behind even Lingard.

There’s this perception that we have no talent. Is that true? The evaluation services VERY MUCH think we have talent. I Googled “college football talent rankings” and UF comes in 9th, tied for 10th, and 12th in the 3 I bothered to look at. Now, maybe every one of these roster evaluation services is just flat out wrong, gotta believe they are, but they’re basing it on the combined star rankings. Let’s say we’re half as talented as they maintain we are, I don’t see where our on field performance has us hovering anywhere around the top 20, top 25. There’s a definite big time (bigly?) disconnect, that’s for sure. I attribute a lot of it to program transition. Or not.

And his play justifies that, in my opinion. We have an elite rushing attack, and his stats are alarmingly inferior to the others on the team.

That's not the definition of talent....You're defining high school rankings. Yes, there is correlation, but that's not talent.

Living in Miami, I always remember when UM signed Kyle Wright, Lance Legget and Ryan Moore....all 3 5-stars, none of them performed like one.

There is such a thing as a recruiting miss...and a recruiting gem (Barber). I mean, go look at our 2018-2020 classes....nearly all are misses. It's wild.

I keep going back to this: Our top 2 offensive players transferred from UL. I mean, our roster is so bad, that our top 2 players came from UL.....UL! And our 3rd (Etienne) is a true freshman. We have a loooong way to go.

Well then, if star rankings don’t define talent, I guess there’s no reason to rank players and certainly no reason for anyone to fret about our position in the rankings. And yeah, just coincidental that AL, GA, Ohio State, Clemson always finish high in the “high school rankings” and also vie for, and actually win, the NC pretty much every year. That’s one consistent coincidence.

I mean there's prolly a max of four NFL draft picks this year, and I doubt that number. No one R1. Torrence in R2 or R3, then we'll be on alert to see if Cox or Dexter even get picked. I think Dexter will on size alone and a team hope he figures it out, and Cox will late as a one-trick situational backup. But neither of them is even a lock. Our MVP (Miller) has limitations that basically eliminate Sundays. I can't even think of another possibility.

One to three draft picks is a pretty sad state. Then again we only had three last year also. We're not exactly on a roll.

There is talent and talent where it is needed. I would much rather have a surplus of lineman than some of our “stacked” positions

It’s exactly what we need and the most fair and logical way to do it. The people bitching about Napier this season are either idiots or trolls

Been saying this for months, man.

Let's lower the bar a tad...How many are even legit, bona fide, all conference players (this season)? Not many.

I have never, to my recollection, suggested that we have "no talent." To the contrary, I went into this season believing that we had the roster to stand toe to toe with anybody in the SEC not named Bama, UGA, ATM or LSU. Other, cooler, heads advised caution. They spoke of the dearth of actual accomplishment on the part of many of the four and five players that dotted the roster. They advised that character, hard work, willingness to take coaching and their suitability for the new schemes and new team culture were just as important as star ratings or HS clippings. While still others were concerned about the ability of some to scrape the schytt off their shoes left over from years of insanely bad coaching. I didn't want to listen then. I'm definitely listening now.

I've had the opinion, even before this season began, that Jachi Polite was better than Cox. And JP isn't in NFL (or am I wrong?).

The Combine can make or break players. If the NFL only had game tapes to go on, the draft would often be totally different.

What I am saying is, all that we have seen so far was not the result of poor talent and attitudes. Some of it? Obviously.

I like him as well. Will we like his offensive philosophy... his chosen DC's scheme? We will get the talent, so it appears.

Undoubtedly we need a talent upgrade and that's implied just by attrition under mullen and the general recruiting results. Our classes were, after enrollment, probably in the neighborhood of 15th and though I do not follow attrition at other schools, we had our fair share so that after a couple of seasons, a couple of his classes were "stripped down".

This makes sense to me. While there may be some rankings that show our roster in a top ten range, I don't think our recruiting rankings were consistently in the top ten over the past 6 years or so. I remember some in the 20's.
What it really comes down to is the ranking and the ability to develop the players. Taking a player that already has talent and develop that into someone that has a lot of skill to go with it. Mullen and Sharkman probably didn't do that all that much. Hoping Napier can along with getting higher ranked players.

Is he dressed on the sidelines? I didn’t check the last few games.

Didn't look for him, but he's not on the injury report...so I have to assume he's dressed and in good standing, so to speak.
