If it helps, it's nowhere near true that he has had more carries with the Texans than he did at Florida. 121 attempts in 8 games in the NFL, 329 carries in 49 games at Florida. He was twice the leading rusher at Florida in carries and yardage.
15-20 carry/game backs are very much a rarity these days in both college and NFL. His last two years he averaged about 10 carries a game at ~ 5 YPC. The thing is, we had Malik Davis, who averaged the same YPC as Pierce in 2020 and just .4 less in 2021. If there's one thing we've had - consistently - in the last 5 years, it's RB talent.
Houston sports talk radio felt compelled to mention the Texans were playing today but no one cared. It was Stros all day long and with good reason. The Texans are abysmal. Outside of Pierce, there is pretty much no reason to even watch them. Dameon though has been terrific.
I don’t care about either team. A gator / who you suggested would get introduced to some real nfl defense did very well.
would be nice if he would be more involved in the passing game. Or score more TDs....its all about fantasy football points for me.
I believe the stat was misconstrued as one site reported he has more carries in 7 games for the Texans than he did during any single season at UF. Which sounds much more plausible
We could have had Derrick Henry at RB and would have limited him to 10 carries a game. I can understand sharing time when there isn’t a great difference between the RBs, but when one RB is much better than the other RB the better RB should play.
