To add, none of this even takes into account that Biden is battling the additional headwinds of powerful communication groups intent on his failure to further paint him in a negative light wherever possible.

I gave your post a green check mark.
Next point. As a leader though, do you make an attempt to move past strife, perceived transgressions, as a gesture in good faith? I think the bigger person who is serious about leading would consider reaching over to the other side. I think it can be done. I’ve met some very fine people in my life who live in this manner. They are out there, and have the courage to be decent people.
Mitt Romney doesn’t seem too far off.

I’ve done so. Henderson and others have engaged in a professional manner. You’ve decided not to. I can live with it.

    Orlando.... Again
Voted for him in 2020. First (D) presidential vote in my lifetime.

He's done a piss poor job. What's gone well? Nothing, so with no successes to crow about, he proves he is the same as the Orange man I voted against. Divide and conquer. Point the finger. demagoguery

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

That’s literally what the thread is about. Biden’s comments about Trump.

Trump and his band of election deniers running all over the country are Fascist bullies. You beat bullies by not backing down and shining a light on their actions. If this is divisive in your eyes, so be it. It still beats capitulation and promising peace in our time. That doesn't work out when dealing with Fascist bullies, as history has clearly shown.

@flgator2, Gore conceded. He abided by the 2000 SCOTUS decision and in 2002, how many Democrats were running on a stolen election platform? None that I can remember. The 2020 election being stolen is at the core of the midterms in 2022, and every top R in Arizona is running on that as their central theme. There is no comparison.

If Biden's truth of calling out the election deniers are making you uncomfortable, then you need to take a look at yourself in the mirror. Bullies don't like being called out with the truth that they are bullies.

You are super partisan as demonstrated by this pot stirring thread. Only when you are willing to call out the divisiveness and ugliness in your own party will you be legitimately qualified to boast you "are open to real leadership."

Mitt Romney? The Mitt Romney who has a billboard in his home state calling on him to resign? The Mitt Romney whose niece stopped using the family name because it was holding her back in her political career as chair of the RNC? The Mitt Romney with more of his constituents disapproving of him than approving of him, with those identifying as strong Republicans approving of him less? That Mitt Romney?

Here's Gore's concession speech. Where's Trump's? And why are R candidates like Kari Lake refusing to accept the 2020 election results, and why would she refuse to accept a 2022 election result if she were to lose?

Talk is cheap. Plus Donald is a boring guy to listen to. Trump is not in the White House.

It's just a bad faith thread. He says he wants Dems to be uniters. But when you point out all the ugly divisive things major Republican figures are saying he says it doesn't count because they're not the president.

What I'm telling you is that the audience you're expecting him to reach out to won't view his efforts as reaching out. This thread is a textbook example of what I'm trying to explain.

Biden made a speech that was focused on calling out the dishonesty around the Big Lie of a stolen 2020 election. The only people he called out or "attacked" are Trump and the Trumper candidates that are still lying about the 2020 election. He didn't state that Republican voters are attacking democracy. To my understanding, he didn't say anything critical of Republican policies. He even made an effort to downplay the extent of the Republican party that's dug in with the lies. He literally spoke about the threat of public officials lying for the purpose of undermining elections.

And what was your reaction, as someone who doesn't like Biden or his politics? You viewed it as a nasty and divisive speech. What exactly is so nasty and divisive about claiming that democracy is under attack by the former politicians that are currently, actively lying about a past election?

I just don't think you're understanding or appreciating how cognitive bias works. You will likely never view any Democrat President as a unifier because you'll already be entirely preconceived to think their intentions are nasty and divisive.

Dude no he did not. He’s been steadfast in his refusal to accept the election results. What a weird thing to lie about.

Firstly, I never said I expect dems to be uniters. It’s right there in the OP, hard to miss, unless you intend on acting in bad faith.
I said Biden should consider uniting instead of dividing.
Secondly, you have a nasty habit of playing the childish game of, “but he started it.”
